Me, Simon and JonMad usually meet about 9:30am at the Ottershaw Shell Garage (off J11 of M25) and cruise up from there...

Just mentioned meeting up at Donnington on BSB practice day to both of my avid motorbiking brother in laws....they both didn't think it was a good idea . We live about 22 miles away and we hear swarms of bikers coming past our village for hours. Then again we are pretty much on the route from the A1 to the track.

I'm not saying find somewhere else but If its only a starting point for a drive to point B all we need is a place to park that sells refreshments...and a loo

We could contact the museum and ask if we can still park there and visit the museum (as such) even though there is a BSB event. We could ask whether there will be disruption or the use of the car park restricted on the Sat

Wink

As the meet regulars will know, I knock up an appropriate advertising sig for each meet.

If you'd like to make use of the sig, then here's how to do it.

Instructions on how to change your signature to promote UK4:

1 Copy the following- just move your mouse to the far left of the text, hold your left mouse button & drag to the right and down until all the text in the box is highlighted, then let go off the mouse button & hold the 'Ctrl' key & then press the 'c' key to copy the code:

PHP Code:
[url="http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79388"][u][IMG]http://vivekk.bimmerpost.com/uk4/UK4.gif[/IMG][/u][/url]
2 Click on 'Settings' on the top of this page
3 Click on 'Edit Signature' - it's at the top left of that new page
4 Make sure the box in the middle of the screen is coloured white- if it isn't, click the button to change the editor mode
5 Change your signature (the stuff everyone sees at the bottom of any of your posts) by using the box in the middle of the screen-
just click in that box & hold the 'Ctrl' key & press the 'v' key to paste the code into the box
6 If you've already set something up for your signature, then just paste the code under what you've already got, ok.
7 Preview your signature by pressing the bottom right button- try it out to make sure the links work
8 Change it if you aren't happy with it
9 Save your signature
10 Each of your posts should now have your new signature at the bottom, advertising UK4- nice work!

I've tried to make this easy enough for even Carlos to follow, so please use the code & modify your sigs.

All the best.

Viv

A couple of other thoughts for a meeting location should Donington prove unworkable becasue of BSB.

M1 services. Maybe something like the Tibshelf services on the M1 between J28 and 29. Looking at google maps it looks like you can sneak out the back so to speak onto the local roads. We could therefore all sneak into the carpark on one side. Anyone familiar with this particular area or could check it out? Failing that services such a at J23A which are off the motorway itself and are used by both north and southbound traffic.

Retail Park. Just choose a retail park on the outskirts of one of the cities in the area, rather like the MF and Fandango did. Somthing outside Nottingham or Derby would work. Could even be one with somewhere to eat.

Then there are a few more items to resolve....
Who wants to stop overnight?
Who wants to eat in the evening?

Perhaps you could include this info in your next posts guys so that we can get ideas of numbers. Me, I'm up for both.

I am up for 22 Sep at Donnington. Not sure yet whether I will stay overnight, depends on where and what the damage is likely to be. I am already pushing my luck a bit with my lovely wife (have to be careful what I say she reads this site to check up on what I have been up too! )

Dependant on how many are coming down from the NorthWest how about meeting up somewhere on the M6 to drive in convoy??

Matt, Tibshelf services is a good idea, as long as it's not 'too far' for the soft southerners?!

I was thinking about perhaps meeting up at one of the dealerships- Stratstone Derby is in the vicinity & I could try finding out if they'd let us use their facilities- drinks, snacks, car wash etc (well, I always use my local dealers facilities whenever I'm there!)

There are quite a few members from the Manchester / Liverpool area.

I think paddywac will be coming down from around Stockport, so I'm sure a NW convoy could be sorted out.

there is a new service area west of shardlow on the A50 just north of the M1 /A50/A42 junction

anyone coming down from the North via M6 J15 on the rapid A50 will go past it.

plenty of roads towards the peak district from there

How about a bakewell tart?

Steve, Paul would love a tart from Bakewell, I'm sure, although it does depend on the age- he only likes mature ones!

I'm sure there wouldn't be a cherry left, after Paul finishes with it.

Oh dear Carlos- you've got to try to make it, at least to sing Bohemian Rap-sody with Sergei.

If you can't, then just post me the keys to your dad's barn in Derby, would you please?!

You know Gordon, that's the effect of Tesco's subliminal advertising.

I did a search for Bakewell tarts & automatically went for the Tesco pic!

Scary!

Am I reading this right - you are all going to stay overnight at one of the Carlos Hilton hotels?
