E92 330d 2007 - injector issues

I recently changed 3 injectors in my car for cylinders 1-3. However cylinders 1 and 3 are still running bad. ISTA is showing them at running at -5.5. It's like there is a blockage? I may pull them out again and vacuum the insides of where they go.

I know I have to change injector 6 now too.

All new injectors were coded in using ISTA.

Any advice appreciated. I will swap the bad with the good to see if the problem follows the injectors or not.

Fuel filter has been replaced with the genuine bmw one at least 6 months ago.

-Oil service
-Oil filter replace
-Air filter
-Glow plugs + Glow Plug Relay
-Swirl Flaps also removed and blanked out

I'm thinking of swapping injectors 1+3 with 2+4 and see if the problem follows the injectors. I've got the car booked in to a bmw specialist indy for 31st march but will see if I can make some progress on it myself by then. Could it be anything else on the engine? Valves etc?

Worth running through some fuel system cleaner, see if that settles things down?

Where did you get the injectors from?

Were they new, remanufactured, or refurbished?

Well I don't know the difference between remanufactured/refurbished but got them from Germany and was told them were done by BOSCH directly as they all came with new test certificates with new codes. When they arrived they looked brand new.

Remanufactured are units that have been sent back to bosch to be remade. Only a bosch dealer or authorised garage will be able to do this.

They come in a new bosch box and new ima codes. Usually have the word exchange on the box. The dealer will exchange them in front of you and keep the box. They will be security sealed.

They will ask for your old injector in exchange.

Refurbished means it's been done at a local independent. Currently bosch do not authorise official repair on these. Bosh will not sell the repair kits so if it's been refurbished it's more than likely that none bosch parts have been used.

From what you’ve described they’re remanufactured then. As that’s what mine are like. Came sealed with new codes and they look brand new. Yep I also had to give my old injectors to them.

Update:

Injectors 1, 3 and 6 were swapped with 2, 4 and 5.

The problem didn’t follow the injectors so it’s something else. What else could be causing this?

Could it be something to do with the valves?

Could you have a compression test carried out. Would rule out a few things.

Is that something I can do myself? Never done that before.

I'm also going to look at the fuel filter again. I'm praying its not the high pressure fuel pump lol

I could use something like this I guess? Take out the glow plugs and screw this in and then crank the engine? What fuse is for the fuel pump? Will need to remove that obviously.
