Worst. Post. Ever.

Dude, maybe not everyone wants to have a boring e90 like everyone else on the road, ever think about that?

Modding can go either way, make the car look real nice...or really bad.

But that's up to the owner of the car, what do you care? Chill out.

Sorry about the big picture. It's indeed kind of a ricer, you're right about that. I obviously am not into racing and BMWs.Sorry.Again.

Both look equally nice, but there are certain colors to avoid with blacklines, mostly the lighter colored cars like my white. OEM rear lamps look good on my car.

I could care less if all bmw's have blacklines. I ordered them because I just don't like that super visible while line on the back of the car. When I am walking behind my car it feels like I need to take that white line off because it looks to be part of the cars packaging when it arrived. It sticks out and doesn't make any sense at all on a black car. On a white car, I wouldn't change them out at all. The super bright white line would blend more. Just look at that white line and ask yourself if it doesn't look like packaging?

I wanted to add that I took my 15 year old neighbor down to see the car and I asked him about the tail lights. He reached over and felt the white lines without me even saying anything, and said he thought they were packaging, not the tail light. I kid you not. No pun on the "kid" part.

Wholly crap those are the biggest pictures I have ever seen posted. You could shrink them down a bit with a touch of a button or at least crop them. Man, my screen didn't even know where the picture was I had to scroll to the side just to find the car.

wtf are you talking about... blacklines is oem u moron. not aftermarket "pimpmobile". its a different option. what ur saying is that if i got m5 wheels or csl wheels put on an e90 then thats against their design too? and thsoe wheels arent even meant for e90 but theyre still oem. the blacklines was made for the e90 BY BMW.

OK...I see all these posts about people buying blacklines for the E90. I had a 2001 E46 sedan with ambers and I switched them out for clears, front and back. The look of the car changed in a big way...looked great on a jet black car.

With the blacklines there isn't any amber to get rid of. The stock design of the tail lights is a perfect integration of the body lines...and the "L" shape of the red part is a strong visual for the completion of the look. The blacklines diffuse the cohesiveness of the butt end of the car and makes it look....like an old Toyota Avalon or something.

To each his own but I can think of several mods that would make the car better looking....blacklines aren't one of them.
I agree - in my view, the blacklines add nothing - BUT if someone prefers them, so be it.

MARCUS - what mods do you think WOULD make the car better looking? Just curious.

In this man's opinion, they appear much more contemporary and sophisticated. So much so, that I'm surprised that the blacklines don't come stock on the cars.

But like others have tried to articulate, to each his own. We all don't like the same art on our walls. Certainly BMW realizes this, which is why they have produced these as an option for those that wish to make the change.

Peace Out!

You are right I did overlook this. I stand corrected. In fact the two photos above show that both setups look good.

Actually according to this poll over 60% of e90posters seem to prefer Blacklines while over 17% flat out dislike them...

Remember, besides the 60% like it, 22.5% want the Whiteline which has the same design as the Blackline. Therefore, if the Whiteline won't exist, this 22.5% could go for the Blackline as well.
The 17% didn't like the blackline because they felt it looked washed out which both blackline and whiteline are.

Yep. They're just denial. Besice the Alpine white in which the blackline may be blended in, other colors look good with the blackline.
I installed the blackline without telling my gf and roommates. When they saw my car from the back, they said it looked better somehow and asked me if I did something to my car. That was outsider's opinion.

If the Hoffmeister Kink blended into my blacklines my taillights would be very near the small rear window of the rear doors and that would definitely NOT look good, blacklines or not.
