This weekend on a long distance trip (290miles) i got the Engine Malfunction Light. After a couple of restarts/stops i notice the light comes on only in 4th, 5th, 6th past 3k rpms. I didn't notice a restriction on the speed but the power definitely wasn't there. I stopped at AutoZone to see the codes but there weren't any (we tried with two different scanners).

Two days later on a way back car was fine the entire trip.

Ive also had this happened before (about 10 months ago) but i thought it was below freezing temperature related.

Does it sounds like HPFP related?...if so how can i speed up the process of braking it before the 10-year warranty expires ? I feel if i bring it in now the dealer will just take my money and "patch" the issue.
