It depends on your area. If your area sees more laser than radar then you don't need a detector, you need a jammer/interceptor.
If your area sees more radar, any detector will do really. |

Not sure I don't use them.
I just know that if you don't research what band your area uses to trap speed, then it's hit or miss. Some are better with laser and some are better with radar. But with laser, it's instant on. So by the time your detector picks it up, your speed is clocked....unless you pick up the laser hitting someone else. |

Redline or V1 are the best for windshield mount, depending on the state. Testing says that Bel/Escort RD's miss "Quick Trigger" radar shots (faster than instant on, reported to be used in states like Texas and PA) more often than Valentine, but the V1 is more chatty as a result.
Remote mount not much choice, Bel is it. Laser Jammer: Most people hail by the Laser Interceptor, but some say Blinder works fine too. Avoid Escort's offering because it doesn't work well. I run an X50, it has saved me at least twenty times, but I want a Redline really badly since I live in VA now. Maybe Christmas.

Laser Interceptor or just fear the lasers like the rest of us. For radar redline/v1/9500... I went with the redline though going into the decision making process I was set on the v1... be wary of reviews you see as well. Plenty of bias in those results/"opinions".

V1 FTW, range wise its pretty far just like the Redline and 9500/8500 but the build quality is much better, magnesium case, the alerts sound nicer and those ARROWS! you know where the radar is coming from, when it passes you or you pass it and you go about your business and it also tells you how many bogeys it picks up. In my view, i'll that even though the V1 can be very chatty at times especially in urban areas. It's Laser detection works well. I've had it go off a few times for laser and one time when I got hit with it for laser I was able to shed a few MPH's before he locked me in or maybe I got an early warning as he tagged another car.
I love my V1 it has saved me so many times. I hear laser intercepor is good for Laser. I'd buy one if I needed more laser protection. As much as I'd love to, idk if I can justify it. |

Is there a way to not have the radar detectors on the windshield? Maybe hide it inside the grill or something?
