look in to the LUX 5.2 from LuxAngelEyes or the MTEC V3's from a myriad of vendors, like e92-lighting.

I've been looking at those two also and reading all the posts on them. So I'm still reluctant to pull the trigger

Garage List
I have a pair of these in my car.

My question is... since they have a built in resistor so that there is no bulb out warning, does this mean that if these do go out, i still will not have an error?

They should still error if they fail according to the manufacturer.

I got the kit, nicely packaged and all and downloaded the Burger Tuning instructions. I can get the old halogen H8 out no problem, but heck if I can get the replacement bulbs back in! I tried every orientation, tried to compare to the halogen, etc and it just won't lock in....

To confirm I'm not just an idiot I got the stock H8 halogen back in no problem.....

HELP!

Check to make sure there is no stock o ring left in the housing. Sometimes a dab of oil can help get them in. I've told other customers to use double sided tape as a "grip" to turn the bulb in.

Love em'

Based on this review and excellent installation instructions... I got these and Love em'. They look great and the plug-n-play installation sold me. It seemed that every installer in the area wanted to take my front bumper off and charge several hours of labor to do the install. No need, although it doesn't hurt to have a friend with small hands around to access the area where they are installed.

I was undecided between the 12W and 20W... purchased the 20W and made the right choice. The pics posted do justice to the look, including in direct sunlight. FYI

ok so I know I'm going to hear some "you get what you pay for" comments, but why are the HPB interior kits so much more expensive than the modmy3 kit?...i could even add license plate bulbs and come out spending less...I'm not sold on a ridiculously bright kit...sometimes too much is a bad thing.

They are priced pretty competitive right now. Top Gear Solutions has a promotion in the for sale section of lighting here:http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=713322

For the difference, I know a bunch of people on these forums had the modmy3 dome lights damage their housing do to poor fitment. Whether they have fixed that or not I have no idea, nor do I care. The HPB kit has been around for years and was always be the higher quality option. It was also the option with the least amount of failures. HPB also has the best customer service. It is also error free and flicker free which can't be said the same for much of the other competing kits.
Since you now know the prices are very close it is a no brainer to splurge for the HPB kit and do it once, and right.

If you want specific differences you might want to shoot HPB an email to discuss the differences. I have a picture of the modmy3 kit and the differences is pretty obvious once you get them in your hands. There is a reason HPB does not post pictures of their kit hardware, and it is to stay ahead of the competition.

I didn't know about the dome light damage, modmy3 says they won't flicker and talks about how much "research" they have done to make their kit solid...but just the risk of damage to my car is reason enough to go with the HPB kit...thanks for the reply...you may have just saved me a dome light!

No problem. I noticed you are new and it would take a while to come up all the research I've done as well the personal experience I've had with products and this platform. Me and many of my friends today have this car so we pretty much have dealt with many vendors, and a large spread of products over the years.

Although I just made a purchase of getting D-Tech AEs, and just came across these, does anyone here have any personal experience between both AE lights and share their experiences?

I do have HPB Interior Lighting and am very satisfied with the results.

Most of the time they are the exact same bulbs, just a different name. There was a review elsewhere between a 20W and a 32W. the 20W was brighter.... advertising fail.

Yes. You can't always believe the competition.

We have many customers upgrading from 12 to 20 for a reason. Since we dont offer a 32W at the moment we can't speak for another brands angel eyes but the HPB is brighter from 12 to 20 watt.
