I was late in returning a speeding letter many years ago as they cocked up the postcode, they did chase it up so it's best just to play ball at this point I'd say.
Best of luck
Cheers mate and thank you for the advise. I have wrote a letter so I will send that off and hopefully it works out.

Because I don't want to sign the back of that paper, because that means am saying I was racing which I wasnt.

Thanks again sir

Get someone to proof-read your letter. if it is anything like your posts, they may just throw it out after trying to read it.

Hope you clear up the confusion and get some evidence of the alleged offence you committed. Definitely speak to a solicitor for proper advice.

+1

In fact if you have any dealings with the authorities at all you should get representation. I don't mean to be unkind but your English is very poor. If you come up against any crusty old magistrate you won't have any credibility with them.

Over a 1000 letters where sent out.

The police gave most people section 222 which is a ban from the area and a few other racing spots.

And guess what this dude got sec222 and he when to race again and the police got him and put him in a cell, took the car. Now they are setting a court date

Over 1000 letters now? I think someone is yanking your chain mate.

And a vehicle won't be seized for a breach of sec. 222 injunction...

To be fair, and don't take this the wrong way, I think your just believing what is commonly known as 'pub chat'. Rely on facts and what you know to be true. Forget what your mates and mates uncle/aunt/copper etc are saying just go on your own individual legal advise from a qualified solicitors.

All the best...

I also got the same letter dated 13.5.12 on the same stretch!
I emailed the officer in charge and also got a reply saying they cannot pass any pics/video recordings due to them issuing over 500 nips that weekend.
It was a specialist operation called SHIELD i belive to tackle racing in that area.
I recieved a SEC222 injuction about 7 weeks ago delivered by hand and blocking me from them areas until sept 2013.
Serves me right tbh!
I havent gone around them sides/events for atleast 5 yrs as since my son was born have grown up and everytime i did go i ended up in some sort of trouble so started doing legal trackdays instead to let of the steam.
Only reason i was there that night (and i know its no excuse and has come back to bite me!) was i had my car for sale and i had 2 youngish low to mid 20yrs olds viewing the car that evening as i work till 8pm most days, and thought driving past the TRACKS and getting some cred from the spectators would help sell the car!!!
Problem now.............and a big one is that me and the other 2 had driven the car down that stretch and i didnt take note/keep logs of the times and 1st i heard of offence was 13 days later.
No body drove the car crazy but could have been over the limit a few times.
I have had to forward 1 name to police who could not even send me photos or similar to help identify who was driving at the time and am waiting to hear back yet...........not good!!!!!!just my fcuking luck that 1st time in 5 yrs i go there and i'm back in the red!!!!!!

If you really knew it was a problem area then the best idea would have steered clear, the guys who drove it, have they bought it. Prob just wanted a kick out of driving a quick car.

You more likely to sell it using AT than going to an illegal street race

I feel sorry for you that your now involved. Hope you get it sorted mate

Yeh completey agree with u and its my own fault/decision and serves me right!
I work 6 out of 7 days and mostly dont get home till around 9pm, so trying to sell a car is a mission and cant afford to keep taking time off from work.
No i did not end up selling the car as the offer 1 of the guys made was too low for me.
Still like the car so not in a big rush to sell but just wanted a quick easy sell as most people do.
Still kick myself today for actually going near there, so trust me i'm feeling pee'd off at nobody but myself!

Sounds a bit like the Weavers Wharf car park in Kidderminster, full of scrotes in Corsas.

I'm sure Will knows what I'm talking about. They had a crack-down for a while and setup a VOSA inspection van to condemn all their chavtastic exhausts, neon under-lighting and HID retrofits.

Any policing that targets ballbags in shitty halfords modded hatchbacks gets my unequivocal support.
If you are truly innocent then you have nothing to worry about!

I admire your optimism but that isn’t always the case. My daughter had a car run into the side of hers on a roundabout a couple of years back, the driver & passenger made up a pack of lies about the circumstances which was believed by the insurance company, and she was held to be at fault – At the moment I’m in discussions with the police and my Insurance company because it has been alleged I was involved in an accident, which I wasn’t, but I’ve never the less been linked because I was in the area at the time, as confirmed by ANPR. So forgive my cynicism because, unfortunately this isn’t a utopian world & sometimes 2 + 2 really does work out at 5!!

All credit to m thriller for being straight with the facts & I hope it all works out for you

M Thriller did you check the guys driving had insurance to drive your car?

I'm sure if they don't have insurance and you allowed them to drive your car you could get charged too.

Sounds a bit like rock and hard place for you.

Big credit to the posters here offering advice, Mart & htpj etc.

Seems this forum is being invaded by a load of boy racers. Might be time to bail out!

I have been avoiding the area. Since I got the letter. If I have to pass through the area, I go the long way round.

Hopefully you don't get in to any shit. I got my letter in may and sent it back blank with a letter to go with it. I have heard nothing yet and hopefully I don't hear anything back.

But other chap who got the letter who am talking to is getting taken to court in 2-3 weeks time, he did tell me the date but I forgot it. He got a sec 222.
When chap spoke to the copper about the CCTV footage, the copper said he could see it when he gets a Summons to court. As he got that letter now the copper said no, he has to wait till the day. So I don't what's going to happen him.

He got his nip same day as mines.

I will keep you all up to date

Does any one know about this rule.

From the date you receive the nip and if they do decide to take you to court it has to be before 6 months?

Is this information true or am I wrong.

I heard this off the net some where

Does anyone know.

Thank you

Pretty sure it has to be within 6 months off the offence.

Very good point mate and this is whats bothering me now tbh.
At the time i just checked the reg of his car on the MID through his smartphone and it came up as insured and being a 58 plate 1 series i thought iot was fine but now i can not remember his reg nor find any contact details for him as i only met him when showing the car to the other fella!
Plus at the time i had a traders policy and thought i had demo cover anyway but after the letter came i checked my policy throughly and realised they had not put demo cover on!!!!!!
