As I step on it it goes down to 0%.
On cruise control it stays around 94%.
At times as I lift my foot off the throttle it goes to 0% and during prolong braking too.

With a lower percentage the EGT also goes down in value, well logical in my view.

I've noticed the same. However, during these cold months, my EGR usually stays around 70-80%. Summer months, however, it's a relatively constant 94%...

I tried the codes, the US 335D ECU doesn't report that information through the OBD... well, at least the software version I have.

I assume you used Cat 1 Sensor 1?

Finally caught one today.
It started as I was driving at slow speed through the city. When I parked the car the coolant fan turned on at only 63F temp outside. Got home quickly for my tablet and started driving again. The car wanted so badly to go up in EGT but driving on the streets did not help matters at all.
I got on the freeway and the EGT went up to 1150-1170, EGR 0%, Coolant 205F, Load 60-64% for 10 minutes. Then temps cooled down a bit, EGT 500F, coolant 188F, EGR 94% and load less than 50%.

This happened to me last week too, but I couldn't get to the freeway. It tried to go up in EGT but did not happen, so it quit by itself.

Torque is an indispensable tool.

About 250 miles later I got one more regen this morning. I got lucky since it happened on the freeway. I love the app.

Is this normal to happen so frequently? Roughly every 250 miles?

Does Torque app work on iPhone/iPad?

Regen usually occurs every 360-375 miles on my car. I drive about 90% highway with 34 mpg per the car's display.

No luck on Torque app on iOS.

one more today, about 250 mi since last one.

At this rate, I hope there will be no more CBU.
My DPF and SCR were both clogged up when I had my trouble with the car.

I just observed that my D is having very frequent regens. I had noticed two regens in past week. I made sure that regen had completed by monitoring them with torque app. Both of the times as this was happening, i had to aimlessly drive around or on the highway. As decribed by other's in the thread that EGT shoots upto 680-700C, egr goes down to 0-2% and fuel consumption goes up. I am wondering why is my car doing that. I have not observed the radiator fan running after i shut down the engine. The EGT was close to 180C both of the times when i shut the car off. Any inputs?

Caught my 335d in the act of a DPF regen today.

It started as I was close to home in the city doing about 40mph after driving my normal highway commute from the office. The EGT went up to about 950F and my mileage went down to about 20mpg. Instead of pulling up in my driveway and turning off my car before the regen completed, I decided to pass the house, hit the freeway again and I drove the car for about 5 miles at 70+ MPH until it finished the DPF regen.

While on the freeway during the regen, I noticed that the EGT went up to about 1100F-1150F, EGR 0%, Coolant about 205F. Once the regen completed, temps cooled down a bit, EGT dropped to about 500F, coolant 190F, EGR 94%, instant mileage increased to 40.1 mpg.

I must say... I do like some aspects of the clean diesel technology in the 335d in comparison to my 2003 VW Jetta TDI. The Jetta does emit a little diesel smell upon start up and when I mash that throttle. My wife drove behind the 335d in her car and she was amazed that she could not smell any hint of diesel, not so in my old Jetta TDI!

I use the Torque app Android version to monitor my engine parameters and it is a valuable tool!

It's fine to shut it down, some say it's not, but they have never supported this theory with any details of harm...

The trouble with my car (actually one of the numerous faulty things) was diesel fuel inside the DPF. It just accumulated in there unburned due to (probably) incomplete regen cycles.

Regans can happen before the 400 mile mark, there are about 3 or 4 different cycles the dpf goes through, some take longer than others, and shutting it down during one does not harm the dpf in any way, again some say it does, but no hard core proof yet, just theories...
