Does I-pod Shuffle not work in 09's

Its got Space Grey with everything except Navi. My issue is I use is I use an I-pod shuffle to work out with and I have I-tunes songs loaded on it. While loaded on the dock station, the car doesnt recognize any of the song. Any help is apprectiated. I'll post pics soon. Thanks in Advance
