Ha. That would be a long drive across Russia and bumpy ride across the Bering Sea.

What should I do?
Cars in at stealer today for this.....wish me and my wallet luck!

Stealer has quote 148inc vat. I can't get goodwill on this though

BMW have upped the minimum level to £150 before a goodwill claim can be put in. It was £100 3 weeks ago.

This is due to extended warranty excess being upped from £100 to £150.

The £148 is to replace seal and pipe, apparently they say the seal only comes with a new pipe which sounds abit BS according to what i've heard on here. As also mentioned on here getting the seal and pipe changed is the best route so I'm not too fussed.

Well, it cost me £210 as there was a diagnosis charge of £60 put on top. Couldn't even get this knocked down as they spent 3 hours on my car apparently.

Nearly thought that they hadn't swapped it over as when i looked at the new one it had grubby marks on it. However this appears to just be handling marks from grubby hands as the metal joins are shiny new as apposed to the old one.

I'd asked my dealer for the old one and they said "no probs it'll be in the boot when you pickup the car". Was it buggery! had to give them some stick to get them to dig it out of the bin for me.

See belowfor what it looks like:

Had mine done today under warranty, but they too changed the whole pipe and not just the seals. So sounds like they weren't giving you BS if it helps.

SO ALL YOU GUYS WHO HAVE HAD JUST THE SEALS CHANGED - BE AWARE THEY NOW ARE CHANGING THE WHOLE PIPE! IS THERE A PIPE ISSUE TOO????

i haven't really tested out the car since i got it back. just been in town traffic or daily commute so far. will take it for a blast at the weekend and see how it is, but im not sure if i'll notice a power drop though unless its quite apparent

youve not had your map removed when the car was in have you?

Well that is what I suspected but I doubt they would have reset the ECU when replacing some piping, I was never told they had but then they wouldn't tell me by default anyway.

The seal on the hose of my car has definatly gone i can notice the lack of power lower down. It is going back on Tuesday for replacement hose and seal lets see if it makes a difference. Also getting a software upgrade like to see what improvements they made.

I got my car back guys and notice power difference straight away. Lower down the car pushes much harder and you can feel the boast kick in. Much happier now that both pipe and seal has been changed.

I assume not all 335d's are affected by this seal failure?

Just checked the red pipe in mine and it looks clear, although hard to see. Shining a torch and there seems to be no oil on the sheet of metal under the pipe and i can't see any oil on or in the pipe, it looks clear.

Just checking, even if the pipe looks clear that there is no other hidden faults that could cause problems or lack of power?
