plasti dip=winter wheel protection?

anybody run plasti dip over them oem wheel finish just for winter protection from corrosion instead of using different wheels? Does your oem finish stay the same underneath?

I have driven with Plasti Dip on my wheels for about a month to see if I wanted to get black rims before fully committing. When I pulled it off I had trouble, then again I put 4 coats of black gloss spray paint on to get the true black rim look (Power washing with water took them right off). But the OEM Wheel was in perfect condition underneath, don't know how it will hold up in "winter weather" however since San Diego does not experience anything but sun.
