unfortunate this happened... sounds like road racing..

how come all accidents involving ferraris end up with the car broken in half?
it looks like ferrari chasis isn't that strong in favor of reducing weight? or i wonder if that's the "side-effect" of rear engine design?

have seen that too...i forget the URL..but there's vid on youtube...where it shows an Enzo completely broken in half....as well as the engine being totally thrown out of the car and lying on the street by itself....

The speculation is that it was Charles "Mask" Lewis that was killed, co-owner of Tapout.

So sad... heart goes out to the family...

Street racing was my first thoughts but there no mention of it. In fact it was witnessed by the officer...

"The officer told authorities that Kirby was driving the Porsche alongside the Ferrari when the red car hit a curb and then a light pole, which toppled onto the luxury Italian sports car. The officer said the driver of the Porsche stopped momentarily, but continued driving.

The officer came to the aid of the crash victims and requested help in finding the Porsche."

i know what you mean, but i used to browse thru exoticwrecks.com or something and never saw a porsche or any others broken in half, though now that i think about it, i remember seeing a few of lambos in half.
i saw a picture of a teenager losing control of a 911 at 180 and tho the car looked like a crumbled metal, it was still in 1 piece..

People drive like maniacs on that stretch of road. Speed limit is 50, your average soccer mom is usually doing about 70.

I go that way for work. It was blocked off and had to take a detour.

I went out to lunch and saw it. They haven't moved anything from the scene, it looks exactly like the pictures.. except for the body. Bunch of tags on the ground (like the numbers you get at In n Out).

My buddy and I flipped a long biatch just to see it again.
