Achu's E93 3DIRTY5 Build Thread [PIC HEAVY]

this build thread has many pages, but you will see how the car goes from
this

to this

to this

it's worth the read

************************************************** ************************************************** *******************************
hi guys

after owning an E46 316i Saloon for 4 years, i decided to get something a little more powerful... so i went with a 335i... I would have gone with a saloon - i love the look of them... but i drove a convertible and couldnt stop smiling - so bit the bullet and bought one... here she is on the day I brought her home:

you can see the E46 sitting by her...

a few details about her... shes an early 2007 335i E93... she has 48k on the clock... heated electric leather seats, electric folding mirrors, satnav, bluetooth, autoheadlights etc. big thing for me is the 6 speed manual transmission... 335i 6MT are so rare! i love manuals so i had to find one...

dislikes are the colour lol, silver to me is bland... but i sort that out below

first mod as ever is black kidney grills - i regret not buying gloss ones but here they are installed:

then put on some black bmw badges all round:

then some numberplate LEDs:

the SE gear knob reminds me a of a prosthetic hip... it was also too tall... changed it up to a E60 M5 gear knob:

much better!

then it was time for the big work... while I went away to Malaysia with the family, MStyles took the car and Josh picked up the headlights from them:

this is what he did with the headlights...

while this is what MStyles installed:

finally the car was starting look as fast it goes lol

one thing i didn't like about the verts were the shape of the bootlid... a bit too flat and with the brake light there, seemed a little weird... I was thinking about a little kick spoiler bit then I decided to go for a CSL bootlid... sourced one from Germany and had it installed, along with an M-Sport rear bumper...

also had 30% tints put all round...

DVLA finally came through and moved my reg over!

(my mate modelling for me there)

and then to finish it off, Surrey Projects wrapped her up in Matte Metallic Blue by 3M

the build will carry on

need to get some nice wheels on, a proper drop and maybe some interior work...

Achu, can I just say I love the look you created on the E46, looking absolutely fantastic! Created something looked similar ish with mine, but not to as higher detail. Great work.

The E93, wow! What a transformation, that bumper is just totally crazy, such a good look in these cars! Lite angels have created something outstanding with your lights too.

Finally loving this Blue wrap that was done by Surrey Projects, excellent choice, really stands out and puts your car above.

Once your car is sitting correctly it will be truly awesome.

Achu,
Hope you're heading to Gaydon, be good to see the car in flesh.. and of course to show you a real Silver beauty, courtesy of your very own

Love the bootlid, PM me details pls!

Also, what wheels / suspension plans have you got in mind. This will make or break the car dude!!

Love Josh's work, immensely! I also have had his retrofit lights and think they are the absolute tits! Super good price for what it's worth!!

yup i will be down! joining the convoy from oxford services

i have to call my uncle in Germany, he's the one who sorted out the bootlid for me... i know for e92s, mstyle have well priced CSL bootlids, just for e93s they're a bit pricey lol...

so the plans for the drop was: BC type RA coilovers and then dropping to the point where i can't stick a finger into the arch gap lol...

and the alloys, well i haven't decided yet... i genuinely can't find something that drops my jaw... i don't really wanna get CSL reps cos i want genuine alloys and CSL has already been done... VMRs are a bit too common in america for me... and BBS LMs have been done over and over... but they are genuinely all the alloys i like so far lol...

i know i wanna get 19s or 20s... what i was thinking was BBS LMs with a satin black outer part and a colour coded inside (match the car)... that could look pretty cool
