I think we are getting mixed up between "BMW Assist" (which includes bluetooth) and "BMW Roadside Assistance". I meant all cars come with Roadside Assistance for 4 years, but BMW Assist is optional. So this EAS kit is for cars ordered without BMW Assist, because as mentioned, ALL new BMW's include Roadside Assistance.

Yes - we are completing emulation on CCC-based units prefer to wait until ASK and M-ASK emulation is complete. If there are e9X vehicles (since all are CC at this time of posting) looking for bluetooth, we may be able to provide kits shortly.

As indicated earlier - we will be starting a new thread when the kits are ready to be released.

Eagerly awaiting results. So Cal here and, as of July 1, desperately in need of a quality hands free product for my E90.

I shoot tom an email, told me they would run the final tests post July 4th and get back to me soon. it's been two weeks since then, an no dice.. I think I am getting the OEM TCU very soon. At the rate they are going, they're losing potential customers (at least in Cali) by the minute since most are seriously looking into having a BT system in their cars

1 month later from my last post. Still nothing concrete. Just "soon". I am getting my OEM TCU installed today. Tired of waiting for promises. As I stated before...good luck with the vapors.

What is the dealer going to charge for the OEM installation?
Did you buy your parts through the same dealer or mail order?

I notice you have that sig banner about HD radio, but I went to the site I see it only works with the older 3-series.
Do you plan to make a HD radio kit for the e-90?

Unfortunately, no. HD-specific HUs are available from BMW.

I don't understand what that means. Why would it need to come come from BMW?
Can't a third party make an HD radio kit that plugs in using the same method that the XM and Sirius add-ons plug into the standard radio?
I might get the XM radio kit, but I have a short commute and I can't justify the XM monthly fees and I'd rather just listen to the local HD stations anyway and enjoy the better sound quality.

BMW already offers head units equipped with HD Radio, there is no reason to make another. The units are pricey at about $1200+ without coding.

So it has to be built into head unit for some reason? Does the XM add-on kit have to be built into the HU?
The fact that it would cost $1200 to get the BMW branded unit (which means zero takers at that price) is plenty of reason for an aftermarket company to make an affordable HD kit that would plug into the the standard HU.

Replacing the standard headunit for $1200 plus coding just to get HD radio is not an option anyone is considering.

There is an HD-Radio specific radio, the HD option is part of the head unit. There is no XM option for the e9X, only Sirius.

You're not really answering the question, but I give up now.

Thanks for the update Tom. If you hear 'nothing' for too long it indicates the project has gone bye bye and died quietly.

I look forward to this new product, but my poor bruised ear (from a bluetooth headset) looks forward to it even more.

I understand - I refuse to use a headset myself.
