Any Illinois new owners planning to not have front license plate installed?

It is legally required in Illinois to have a front license plate. Anyone from the Chicago area who didn't have it installed...did you have any problems? It does improve the look of the car considerably to not have one. Also, did anyone have any luck with methods of mounting the front plate without drilling into the bumper?

I realize this topic has been covered a few times before but this is for Illinois/Chicago area people who are waiting for their cars and can still make this choice.

1. Front plate is required in Illinois.
2. I didn't have my front plate installed, and I haven't had a front plate for 15 years and counting. Only one "no plate" ticket in that time.
3. It's a matter of personal taste, but I like the look of a car without the front plate.
4. Yes, there are alternative methods for mounting the front plate. See This Thread for one of them. I guess your dealer might have one too...see This Thread. Or read down through This Thread for another alternative.

Fletch!
