Which halogen work lights?

For detailing work which should I get?

I think most of us have 1000W (2x 500W), but I'd have to go back and check the specs on mine. That said, of the two choices you list, the 500W looks better to me. It's heavier and looks more solidly built. Also, it doesn't look like you can swivel the other one's lights to point down, which you'll probably want to do from time to time.

#2 would be my choice. Also, go to a book store and check Road & Track, Car and Driver, Auto Weekly, etc. Harbor Freight took out a full page ad with coupons for various items. One of the coupons is 20% off of any 1 item.

I use dual 500w. Sears usually has some nice ones in the $30 - $50 range.

Definitely should help show the imperfections in the paint.

Husky 1000W (2-500W) at Home Depot. Around $40

i have the husky ones from home depot, and i'd avoid them next time

i've had so many little functional issues with them
