Today's required safety video:
Gentlemen (and the three or so ladies, I'm aware of on this forum),
I got this from my dad and its definitely an eye opener for unsafe driving. It is a compilation video of various dash cams, (some of accident vehicles, others of lucky bystanders) and severe accidents. In some cases its a warning against crazy (offensive) driving, and in others it merely reminds you to "look out" and drive defensively, as so many others out there are actively trying to kill you!. WARNING: some of the footage of this video contains likely fatal accidents. Some of the things I picked out:
Please be safe and don't be "That guy" |

I didn't see any limbs flying?
Majority of those accidents are people that don't know how to drive in snowy/bad weather.

Very clear message: no matter how good a driver you are, sh!t can happen with zero warning which you have no control over. Be ever vigilant for how some dumbass is going to try to kill you.

Majority of these videos are people that do stupid things. This has no relation to knowing or not knowing something. Everybody does something stupid from time to time. It is human nature.

Had a couple friends pass away recently in a car accident. DEFINITELY an eye opener.

Learned a couple of things from that video:
1) Rain sensing wipers will also sense debris 2) Surprising number of cars combusted on impact. Watching people around here baffle me in winter. If it's misting in the summer, everyone slows right down. If it's glare ice, they do 20 over the limit. Blows my mind. I had a guy in a Mustang try to do a aggressive lane change and pass me on the highway when it was glare ice. I saw headlights in the rearview, then they were gone, checked the mirror again and he lost it, went through the meridian and luckily came to a rest on the oncoming shoulder of a 4 lane highway. |
