If you can have a look at the listening position option on the screen where it shows the seating positions and tell me whether it is doing the correct thing when you select front right I would really appreciate it - on mine it does the opposite of what I expected - i.e. it increases the volume of the front right speaker, not reduces it. If I set it for front left, it is the opposite of expected, but correct for Front right!
Lol...ok kool...i'm all confused to what mine does now after reading this!

I'll have a look at it when i'm in the car and get back to you...

Apologies for the delay lads! Been a busy few days!

Kayfaz, here are some pics of the way my unit is fitted:

Emeye, as for the Listening Position setting:

If i set it to Front Right, the left speaker is reduced and visa versa for the Front Left.

Is that what you were expecting?

Thanks

Thans for the pics. That definately looks a better fit than the connect2 fascia that I have! I will take some pics of mine if I get a chance today - it is already starting to come out of fit slightly!

Does yours screw in place at the bottom?

Does it come with a metal frame?

Thanks for confirming the seating position settings - those are the same as mine and back to front. Surely the nearest speaker to the driver should be reduced?! It's not the end of the world though, as you can manually adjust them - if you go to the time adjustment screen, the delays are set correctly as standard. you can get it sounding pretty good changing these settings, but I've not had a chance to properly set it up - I also have a sub which gives a massive improvement - as do the logic 7 tweeters I fitted.

Today I'm going to install the firmware upgrade which I've been trying to get around to all week!

Thanks!

The screws have stayed in place on mine. It comes with plastic brackets which are used to mount the unit to car which are located behind the facia. The original metal frame and plastic surround that comes with the Pioneer unit haven't been used.

Yeh the listening positions are not what you expect. i expected them to be what you said. But to be fair mine is set to off and just have them at the same level.

I'm running a full Hertz speaker setup with an Audison amp so i get plenty of control with the audio.

Good luck with the firmware upgrade! Make sure the car is on during the upgrade! Takes a while!

There are no screws for the fascia on mine, it just clips badly into the metal mounting frame it comes with. Where did you get yours?

A local car audio dealer fitted mine for me but i'm pretty sure its a connect2 facia.

I'll have to dig out the receipt and let you know...

Lol possibly!

Question for ya... When using Apple maps and listening to music, does maps lower the volume of the music for the instruction? Because mine doesn't!

At the moment the only way I can control the navigation volume is from the alerts button when the volume appears.

I think so. Well usually it does. It has gone a bit mad occasionally. I tend to turn off the sound unless I don't really know where I'm going by pressing the speaker symbol.

You could try rebooting your iPhone. Has fixed a few things for me.

Have you noticed that if you regularly travel to the same place at a similar time Apple maps guesses where you are going and sets up automatically when you set off?

I find it great having the Nav on all the time as the traffic info is pretty accurate.

Checked my Appradio4 this morning. Navigation instructions were working as they should and interrupting the Music playing from Rdio. On occasion it has stopped working correctly. I am still running firmware 1.06.

Quick Q folks... Isn't there any fascia that doesn't protrude at the bottom? Looks kinda odd that the bottom doesn't sit well.

AFAIK, not unless you put the climate control panel above the head unit. I believe there is a Janus fascia like that. There was a thread comparing fascias but I can't find it.

ETA from the drivers seat you don't really notice it sticking out.

Found the fascia thread. Looks like connects2 do an alternative top climate mount too.

totally different, Apple carplay is a very specific iphone technology....creating a "stereo" out of your phone, and "mirroring" your phone in some ways, running specific apps made for the carplay environment.... for better and for worse.

The Dynavin N6 is a conventional car stereo navigation system. It treats your iphone as a music source (either through bluetooth or as an ipod), although it integrates nicely with pandora, spotify, etc...it does not have any part in running those apps, it just funnels the audio to your cars audio system.

apples and oranges.
