Just swapped last night, my summers were getting bald. Winter wheels aren't too bad anyway (Style 158).

Sounds like all of us have pretty bad summer tires for the weather conditions. Mine were definitely on their last season.

Waiting 7-10 days - only concern is night time where I just take it easy. No accumulative snow for a few weeks anyways

xdrive may help you in accelerating but it wont help you when you need to brake... get some winters.

Just changed them today michelin alpin PA3. Getting cooler but will risk some warmer temps because the noisy bridge RF driving me crazy. Ahhh...now drives so smooth and so quiet.

Mine are going on tomorrow... Sotto Zeros RFT's... Slammed on my brakes during the rain, and slid on my Hankook`s V12`s..... Thankfully no other cars on the 4 way stop I somehow only noticed while passed it...

Was gonna wait a couple more weeks, but noticed the back end starting to slip. Ended up putting mine on tonight. Let's see some snow!

x-drive will "help" but don't expect it to be very good. Some people say all seasons and AWD is great. I have tried my summer tires with AWD and still not good enough. When I put winters on, it works extremely well!

You need to think of not only accelerating and turning but rather stopping, AWD doesnt help.

Drove on drag radials last night on the highway LOL, it wasn't as dramatic as I expected though considering there was snow and freezing rain.

Just did mine this afternoon. I saw snowflakes on my windshield when driving to work yesterday up to North York. Rather put a bit more wear on my tires than chance it. Plus it's consistently under 10 degrees now so I'd say it's time.
