What type of radar detector is that? I just bought a V1 and was thinking perhaps best placement location is to the left or right side of the rear view mirror rain sensor. I intend to run the power cord along the a pillar to the ashtray. Yeah I do live in VA and they are illegal here. Sucks, not sure if I will use it here, but definitely use it out of state.

Rixster won this before the post even was written. It is brilliant placement, full of functionality, and a forum member we can support. If I was to design it myself, I couldn't do a better job.

Does anyone other than the vendor have pics of the rix gauge? I've always been interested, but concerned about how bad I would tear up my car removing that vent haha.

And the pod design just doesn't work for me. IMO, its between the rix gauge and that one I've seen inside the rearview mirror (if that's even for sale).

Not IMO. I prefer an analog gauge and don't like the way it flips from right-to-left for vacuum to left-to-right for pressure. Just my 2c.

He definitely has the best placement and integration though. I'm trying to figure out how to seamlessly mount an analog gauge in the same left vent location. The dash mount gauge pod isn't bad, but it does look a bit more tacked on.

To get the vent out of the car to work on you only need your hands. Once you have it out to work on, a small screw driver to help you ease a few tabs open is the only other thing you need when working with the vent.

There is a full instal vid here: http://www.rixeffects.com/p3/ventinstall

Here is a pic in my car.

Color matches the OEM color. You can adjust the brightness to what you want it to be.

Oh men, that CF looks way better than the high gloss black trim. You should go back to the CF trim...
