So p****d off!

So as I've just posted in the classifieds:

So, due to our great councils repairing our roads so well, I've destroyed 2 tyres today due to potholes. To make it worse, they were goodyear f1 asy2 that I fitted less than 5 weeks ago. I could get new tyres all round but thought I'd take the opportunity to see if anyone has any wheels for sale with tyres that I could get instead. It's safe to say I'm p****d off though!

The tyres have covered about 1k and I've destroyed the front and rear on one side of the car. Do you think replacing the damaged ones would be safe? As in, would they be too mismatched on each axle with one new and one having covered 1000 miles?

1000miles is nothing really. I'd you'll be fine just replacing those damaged.

We have similar roads around here, nice to know our road tax ££ gets spent where it's needed eh!

Yep, this was kind of a back road and the hole was filled over with water so couldn't see it.

I just hope I didn't crack the wheels. So you think 1000 miles is not too bad to be having a new wheel on one side of the axle?

Get pictures and evidence of the damage.

I recently suffered damage and was settled by damages for it.

I can't, I can't even tell you where the pothole was, it was one back road in an area that I actually got lost in (was out for a drive looking for places to buy a house!) and even if I could find the road, there's no way of finding th hole as it was under a puddle of water the width of the road

You've just reminded me to report the potholes i've seen on Fixmystreet.com (which i recommend everyone uses). So if nothing else, take solace away from this that you may have stopped it happening to someone else.

FWIW, i whole heartedly agree - councils are absolute crap are repairing roads. It's taken 6 months and 3 reports for them to do them sometimes. I pay £450 a year for my road tax and can't even drive on roads without damaging my car. I've i stop paying my council tax and VED, let's see how long they take to come 'round demanding payment. I'm guessing they'd have the bailiffs on me within a week.
