I got 3 points while I was doing 37 and GATSO flashed.
Funny enoughy I drive on that road daily, and I dont remember what I was thinking on that day, and if camera really flashed. Other than that I have been stopped twice in Saudi Arabia, first one doing 160 MPH, got the ticket and was asked to try their jail for 2 days. Luckily I had contact number of their minister of petroleum, who got me out of that shit. Next time I was stopped doing 125MPH and got ticket. No more offenses

I've been done for speeding 4 times in my 14 years driving and every single time it has been by an unmarked car for ridiculously petty offences. Despite doing 30k/yr I've never been done by a camera or scamera van.
I got a tailed by an unmarked Volvo and given a 3 pointer for 79 on the M4 at midnight in 2007. Similar thing for 80 on the M5 in 2006. Currently have three points from an unmarked 320d for doing 57 in a 50 on bloody Xmas day! Merry f***ing Christmas to you too officer. |

Driving for about 25 years but I got 3 points maybe 6 or 7 years ago for speeding on the motorway. That first sweeping bend on the M180 if anyone is interested. They warn you of cameras, there aren't any. But I found out they mean the van that sits on the police layby... I remember about a week before smugly telling my wife to wind it down a bit after she got 3 points. Karma I suppose.
However, I did get caught speeding in a 30 zone about 6 months ago and was offered the awareness course. The guy was a tit and it's about 3 hours of my life I'll never get back but better than points again. |

Accumulated over 100 pts in the past 3 years! Not sure how much exactly as I stopped counting them a while ago.
I used to spend more time in court than I did at work....I diserved most of the tickets I got but lots of them were given to me by the Police just to piss me off. I was winning all my cases in court and they couldn't take me off the road! The police knew me and hated me with a passion! |

Caught doing 42 in a 30 back in 1974. I was on a Honda 50. Flat out, of course. £12 fine. Seems ridiculous these days. that was before points were introduced. And 3 points last year, driving the 530, pulled over by an unmarked 530! I was as usual, doing 40 through the 40 limit, but floored it at the derestricted sign. From there to the next 30 limit (where I slowed to 30 - I'm like that), he clocked me at an AVERAGE speed into 3 figures. Gave me the ballocking, threatened me with automatic court appearance for over 83mph, then said he'd compromise at a fixed penalty 80mph. Fair enough I suppose. I did ask if he'd let me off, but he wouldn't. Spoilsport.

Hmmm, I'm 25 now and since I was 16 I've had 10 speeding tickets, 1 reckless driving ticket, my license suspended once for a month, a wet n reckless (never lost my license because I blew a .07 at the station) and 2 fix it tickets that I can think of. I've only gotten 3 of them dismissed from Trial by written Declarations. The rest I've had to pay sadly. 4 of the 10 speeding tickets and the 2 fix it tickets were in my 335i. I know I know, slow down.

#1 was for doing 70 on a dual carriageway (A31 Ringwood) because there were roadworks; well, there weren't - it was Easter and all the cones had been cleared onto the verge, with the 50 signs nowhere to be seen, but according to the jobsworth copper who tailed me "the 50 limit still applies, Sir"......"how on Earth can I know that, officer?"....."it's not my job to teach you the rules, Sir, it's your job to know them..." #2 was for overtaking a tractor across a solid double white line, he was doing about 0.003 mph and I could see the road was clear waaay ahead, there was no-one else about - apart from the marked car sat at the bottom of the hill. Again, the police officer acted like a complete wankstain. To be fair, I got pulled over when on my CBR1000 Honda at some silly speed, and that guy was fair and sent me on my way - i think he just wanted a closer look at the bike! Twenty years on, nothing since, fingers crossed. Mike. |

Hmm, the copper hadn't been reading the highway code. It is permitted to overtake very slow moving vehicles across solid lines. From memory this is permitted up to 10mph for the vehicle you are overtaking.

I’ve had a clean lience for 5-6 years. Picked up 2 lots of 3 points within the space of 6 months a few years back.
However, these days it helps that they ditched both fixed speed cameras and the Wiltshire Safety Camera Partnership around the Swindon area. And no more cameras on the M4. Not as I ever speed though. |

None for me. Starting to think it's just a matter of time.
Often find myself hitting warp speed just following other cars, should really just stick to speeds that won't land me in any serious trouble. |
