Mines had a front bracket so I put the blank bmw vanity one there and my real plates on the back. I wish it didn't have the front bracket at all.

I've been pulled over for no front plate here in CA. If you have a lot of engine mods, I wouldn't risk it. He can give you a ref. ticket along with a dumb fix-it ticket then ding you for every single small thing. IE: tint, exhaust, ride height, plates, etc. etc.

Do they require a front or back plate where you live? If so, how have you been getting away with it?!

They require a rear plate... My only guess is each cop that gets behind me at red lights or while Im driving thinks that its a brand new car. Thats always the question when I get pulled over "Did you just buy it?" Ive never gotten a ticket

Always!

You can't drive here without plates... They can really make your life very difficult if you try...

when i posted this i was really leaning towards the no plate look i mean it looks aweasome nice and clean then i found out mine were bolted on and first off i could repair the wholes with some work or buy plugs but then i got to thinking im going to pay 50 bucks to repair at most when i can spend 50 dollars on like emblems or put it towards vinyl roof or something in that nature so license plates stay on and plus i live in L.A and cops here are asswholes

Our cars look much better without front plates, so if you live in a state (or country) that doesn't require them, why put them on?

But, if you live in a state (or country) that requires them, is it worth the risk of getting pulled over, especially if you have a drink or two once in a while?

Not having a front plate gives every cop an excuse to pull you over any time they want. What if they pull you over one night after you've had that extra drink that might land you in jail and cost you a ton of money?

TX, front plate. Find a no drill option. Where I am lots of tickets being written, revenue is down...

I live in New Jersey, and my home is less then one mile from the police station. I do not want to worry about being pulled over every time I leave my house.

I don't drink, but most people often drink a little and sometimes more. It isn't a separate matter if you are borderline DUI and get pulled over for not having a front plate and then get busted for DUI.

I once asked a cop how much over the speed limit they allow before pulling us over. He said: "It depends. Sometimes I'll give you 10 over, but at 2 am, I'll pull you over for going 2 over to see if you've been drinking". They can do the same thing for not having a front plate.

I live in NJ as well and never had a front plate. I've been pulled over a few times over the years and no one has every mentioned it. Some of the officers have even walked around the car too.

Thumbs up

I'm in Bergen County. With Township police, County police, and state troopers. That's a lot of police to avoid. Those that live in New Jersey and drive without a front plate, I give you a lot of credit.

Front plates are required in Ontario, but I ran a Lotus Elise for 4 years and was never pulled over. It was not my daily driver though.
I decided to use the front plate to avoid any hassles, but trimmed it with tin snips to fit the lower grill and attached it with thin plastic ties. No holes in the bumper, cleaner look, no difference in oil temps on the road and easily removed for the track.

Think the front looks best without but here in TX, it's illegal so no choice. My E93 devalued after the dealer installed that front plate but what can I do? I don't want to be stopped by the cops for any reason.
