I need my oil changed...

So I just bought my car a couple months ago, and had an oil sticker on it to replace at 58K...had 52K when I bought it...now has 54K...and I can't see the level of oil but took it to Bellevue bmw for a recall 3 weeks ago, and they said I need an oil change...when I bought it I was able to see on the dash full oil, now it searches....it has done this since bmw had it....

So....I would like to get an oil change...or at lease find a place that can see if I do need an oil change. Please advise....I would like to take of this this week.

Thanks. side note: I might need my plugs and or spark plugs replaced....anyone want to make a few $$?

I have been taking my 335i to Signature Independent in Kirkland for the past 4 years for oil changes. I do it every 8,000 miles. They charge about $85-90 and it takes an hour. http://www.signatureindependent.com/

BMW Seattle currently has an $80 oil change service special, excluding M-models (http://www.bmwseattle.com/specials/service.htm) but it's not convenient from the Eastside. I don't know if BMW Bellevue has any specials.

I believe the car has to be started and engine temps alive before it will show oil level in I drive / dash, idiotic system IMO. Could that be why it's just searching?

You might be right....I will check this out tonight....oh, I need a new battery too....German cars are wonderful on the highway, but expensive in the garage.

Garage List
BMW Seattle has a special going on right now for like $70, I think I paid around $80 after tax, etc. Just print out the coupon online and they'll do a "multipoint inspection" as well..

I take both of my cars to KD Motorsports in Bellevue (about a block or two away from BMW of Bellevue). He's a small indy shop and knows BMW's well (not to mention he races pro3 and usually has one or two of his race cars in the shop). Awesome dude and his customer service is on point - he's quick to respond to emails, texts, and/or phone calls which is huge for me.

Per owners manual:

"Checking oil level
Your car is equipped with an electronic oil-level monitor.

For a precise measurement and display of the oil level, it is necessary that the engine be at operating temperature, e.g. after uninterrupted driving for at least approx. 6.5 miles/10 km. You can have the oil level displayed while you are driving, or while the vehicle is at a standstill on a level surface and the engine is running."

Right?

I do. Actually just about to do it.

Here is the dilemma: There is an oil change kit from getbmwparts for $76, but with $79 special at BMW Seattle, it kinda doesn't make sense to DYI.

Does anybody know the local pricing on BMW OEM oil and a filter?

Yes on my e90 BMW NW has a $79.99 special so $88 with taxes. That is about how much we'd spend on parts and then my time and going to turn in my old oil as well.

My Mercedes and AMG's on the otherhand I DIY because dealer charges $150-$225 for oil changes. When I can get everything for $100 for each car.
