well, in vintage speak that adds character to the watch esp since you mentioned is your grandfathers, so will surely have some stories behind that. You could always keep the original band and replace with a period correct NOS(new old stock) one!

they both had the YM2 in stock, 29k at both. It is a very beautiful watch and stands as its so large.

So you have this http://www.rolex.com/en#/rolex-watch...d-m116681-0001

and this

http://www.rolex.com/en#/rolex-watch...d-m116688-0001

and
http://www.rolex.com/en#/rolex-watch...d-m116689-0001

I think the first one with Everose gold strikes a nice balance but you will have to judge in person, the gold is good too. The last one in white gold is too plain though is comparatively more in demand and bit more pricier, would have loved it to have the blue insert. Which one did you see for 29k or all of them are priced same?
IMHO the YM2 is bound to be a future classic well worth keeping as a heirloom. It should keep it's value or appreciate over the long term because it is not currently very popular owing to it's high price(which will make it rarer going forward) and it also has Rolexes most complicated movement with quite a range of Yachting related functions. Any idea what it would cost through duty free?

Also some info on the 4160 movement

Yeh my grandfather bought it, but never wore it. It's a 1971, but just sat in his drawer from like 1972 until 2010.

Great collection, which Breitling Navitimer model is that? Lol, I see you have a fake collection too.
Loving the vintage Omega, looks in amazing condition for a 40yr old watch! Just wondering, why did your grandfather not use it?

One of my weekend warriors. Doesn't get much wrist time theses days as I find the rubber straps more comfortable in the summer heat.

Thanks for the kind words. Good to see others that are interested in AP's.

Not a lot of people like the RO offshore design, but then again different strokes for different folks.

Hornback is one my Favorite straps. You cant go wrong with it, especially on a black Themes.
The only grief I have with AP's are their straps, they're are a bitch to change!!!
If only they adopted the Panerai screw system.

Thanks.....

The Diver has adopted the wide rubber strap with tang buckle.
Rubber quality is second to none and when combined with the tang buckle,
and not the folding deployant.
It simply makes it one of the most comfortable watches on my wrist
Hence it's my daily
