I don't know if aux works the same as the navigation volume does, but I do know that to get navigation audio to increase in volume, you have to turn it up while the thing is talking. Give it a shot. It may work, it may not.

That is by far the best use of a tablet computer I've seen. Kudos, OP. That is cool enough for me to actually buy a tablet. I've resisted up until now because short of reading books and watching movies on it, I have little other use for one.

I presume it's removable and you just take it with you when you leave the car and can still use it for whatever else one uses tablets for?

I look forward to the DIY.

You seem to have two mounting approaches. What's the difference, besides the location (I can see that much )? Or is proximity since it's a touch screen the primary benefit? Also, where did you have the mounting clip made? Is the mounting assembly specific to a BMW or will it work in any car?

Thanks and all the best.

Really all it is, is a metal L bracket that you can get from Home Depot or any hardware store. The original clip is used and drilled into the bracket, and the L bracket is squished whee you see it go into the dash. There is some fabric material wrapped around the L bracket which not only protects the car if I want to remove it, but also makes the fit a lot tighter and more secure. It's been a few months now and there hasn't even been a slight shift from the bracket, it works very well. Then the power cord just runs through the dash and piggybacks off the cigarette lighter.

I'd love to see some close up pictures showing this with the GPS unit removed.

I tried the Kuda, and it was not to me liking(GPS unit stuck out way too far).

Got a pic with the Kuda? I'm considering doing this kind of install myself.

Nah, took it off right away.
