The bump at the bottom sits roughly flush vertically with the top of the diffuser, so the fins won't come out from the top towards the back of the car and then turn down - but rather they'll be straight down from the top. The way I'm going to do it is to have the fins come out over the bump slightly too - the same distance as the little bump underneath the car. If you want to, get down there and look at the bottom of the bumper - there's a slight little lowered section which is where the pick-up points for the bumper are: That'st he distance I'm talking about - not much - maybe 3/4 of an inch or so. I'll try do some renderings as well - to give you an idea of how it will look. With regard to the cutting - I'll soon have 5 in stock with the same profile as what you've seen in my pics so far. If anyone is interested in that profile - let me know. For the next batch I can have them cut more straight. If you look at the car from behind, the line which wraps around the side of the bumper seems to come straight down. That's the line I'll try match, but we won't be able to have it wrap totally around the car. There are a couple issues - 1 is the size when it comes to shipping - I can only ship them at a decent prize at the width that I've cut it to now, and the second has to do with fitment - It'll be REALLY diffucult to ensure fitment around the side of the bumper if it wraps around it completely. With a more flat plane, it's much easier to ensure the fitment. If I cut it more straight though and have it follow the line on the side of the bumper I think it'll look better too. But like I say, let me see if I can do some renderings to give you an idea of what I mean about everything. |

Oh - and a last quick update, the dual opening pattern has been made - and a mould will be done soon. So the dual opening should be ready within a week or so. Fins on each to follow soon!

I know you said that shipping is a concern if the part is too long but I think I speak for at least a few others on here when I say that this is not going to be "throwaway spare change" as far as cost goes, so if it doesn't look right by following the OEM bumper cutouts (on pre-LCI first, then on LCI as well if you tackle that model), would be better off putting the money towards an Mtech replica bumper instead. Not trying to be negatively critical, as I am a supporter of options for the OEM rear bumper, but if a new product is to be offered and you are seeking input from the community, let's try to get it right. |

I was thinking I liked this idea at first.. to follow the lines. It looks good in the pics you did. But if you do the same P shop with a straight side view of the car.. It looks crazy weird IMO. Try it.

I like this . The sides aren't as curved at the one on the sparkling graphite
it doesn't follow the long curve on the bumper but this looks good can't wait to see the finned version

I don't like this only because the purpose of "fins or a diffuser " is to diffuse air. The fins need to be lower not sit high up.

just wanted to ask ,
I see your worried about wrapping to the sides of the bumper because of shipment. I just want to my vehicle and took a look at the curved lines in the bumper, they don't wrap all the way so the curve would be really small. It Only extends a couple inches to the left of the exhaust pipes

Ok - So I've tried some renderings on the same pics as I posted before. Soon as I get it onto another car (a lighter color) I'll post up some more pics...
This is what I think it will look like with a straighter side profile (apologies for my bad photochopping) And this is what it will sort of look like with fins Again - apologies for the bad photochopping, but it should give you some idea... |

Can you do that photoshop but with the picture of the rear from a further distance and with 4 fins and those same curves on the sides

You are going to be doing the lip around the outline and around the exhaust cut outs correct?
