Performance air filter

Anyone tried a performance air filter on a 6 pot diesel ?

Was wondering if it was worth it in terms of power gains ....

i dont think you would see much might make your engine breath easier though
i have the bmw performance CAI on my 325 petrol not much hp gain but engine sounds great and seems more free reving it wasnt worth what bm charge for it.
Thankfully i found one on ebay.

If anything it will just cause issues due to the EGR valve and EGR pressure sensor getting more soot through them than usual.. I'd say.

Most certainly dont use an oil/paper based performance air filter as the oil cocks with the MAF sensor internals....

And tbh, it would sound sheeeeite on a dervola.....not induction noise as such, just sounds like you have turned the clatter up.

Oh, and you will be deafened by turbo "suck" noises.

Not very....well.....BMW.

I have never noticed any difference using a performance air filter ... it may help slightly but I have been more worried in the last few years over stories of the oil getting on the MAF sensor ...

I found using piper-cross on both my e46 and e90 320D only thing it improved was huge reduction in smoke (from black cloud to small puff) and in both few mpgs and quicker spool up of engine. Main thing is that unless you remap then the filter is definitely pointless
