Hole in my M3 Rep Bumper Air Duct

So I got my car back from the body shop to install the front bumper and air ducts but there is a hole on the driver side air duct because the body shop owner said I needed that hole for the brakes?

But I've seen other people's air ducts installed for the m3 rep and it looks perfectly fine. Can anyone help me on this or give me some insight?
thanks.

I'm not worried on my man-made duct hole, does help the brakes IMO.

The M3 driver duct actually doesnt go to the brakes. It goes up through the driver side hood vent. The M3 also doesnt have front duct-fed brake vents, since it has drilled rotors. I've been thinking about doing this myself, so far my best thought is to somehow combine the 335 ducts with the m3 ducts to make a hybrid system. That would take a lot of test fitting, cutting, and bonding, none of which i have time for
