They didn't get a chance to check plugs if they were wet prior to starting the car but the only thing left to change was the Injectors. I have new plugs, ignition coils, battery and no symptoms of carbon build up.

Sounds similar to what was happening with my car. I started getting hard starts and horrible misfires that eventually led to one of the cylinders shutting down. The misfire codes I was getting were for cylinders 1 and 2. Both plugs were wet after sitting for a couple hours and plugs were fouling out. I replaced those two injectors and still had the hard starts. I went ahead and replaced the HPFP along with the low pressure sensor while I was in there and car has been running beautifully since. I can't believe someone charges over $2,000 to swap injectors. you can purchase them for under $1k and the replacement can be done in an hour or so. I came here from the VW TDI world and it is easier to replace injectors on an N54 than it is an ALH.

Just had the same scenario happen to me, best thing you can do to rule out leaking injector is to let it sit over night and check the plugs in the morning before starting. If they are visibly "wet" or soaked or have a strong gasoline odor, it's the injectors. Same thing with me, my car ran 100% after it would spit and sputter for 5 min. It eventually got so bad I had to do something but just be careful it doesn't get worse on you bc the gas can leak and be mixed with your oil and then kaboom. If it is the injectors, change your oil and plugs afterwards as well!

I had those symptoms on my car and it ended up being leaky injectors as well. You should get a walnut blast done. Helps the car a lot.
