it shouldnt if its the same disk, if a burned disk works perfectly fine in a e9X it should def work fine in another e9X.

The problem is not all burn disk will work due to setting and circumstances so just because you bunred a copy and it works, your buddy can just burn a copy on his own and guarantee it to work.

hmmm... thats weird, I dunno what to tell you, because thats never happened to me. The only thing I can think of is it was a bad burn but your car just happen to have a more lenient i-drive that allowed it to work and your friends car is normal, thus does not work.

find another e9x if you can and try it on that car, if it also don't work, then you got yourself a 1 of a kind car lol.

hey bigboy, thanks for sharing torrent with everybody. I've got a question, I know you removed some POI from the original disc so you can fit red cam on it, but is there any way that you could make another iso image that would have everything on it, all POI and red cams. I know it will not fit on regular DVD+R, but some users stated that it works on DL (Double layered DVDs) also. So if somebody can burn it on DL DVD+R then he would have full version + cams. But anyway thanks for sharing!!!!

Hey guys, i downloaded it from torrent. Bigboy's 404 post has the link to get it. That's where I get it from. I burned it and it works - speed cams and everything. It seems that it just takes it little more time to read it though. Probably because I used older blank DVD, that was laying around in my house, or because it is DVD-R instead DVD+R. I know DVD+R is more supported but mine DVD-R works good. Anyway, if you guys want to know what I used to burn it: my dvd burner is plextor px-760, i used blank Memorex DVD-R, and I burned it (burn image)with latest edition of Nero.
But all of this doesn't really matter for you to work. I have a 2006 330xi, and it works. YOU NEED!!! your E90's software to be UPDATED TO THE LATEST VERSION as possible!!!. My software version is 31. I heard that they have 33 now. Just go to the STEALERSHIP and tell them to update your BMW software version. In case they will ask why, just say that you bought the latest navigation DVD from Navteq and it doesn't read it in your car, and that you talked to the navteq customer service and they told you to update your car's software. But I don't think they will. There is a difference between car software version and navigation DVD version!!!!
A lot of you out there ask the same questions, why same burned DVDs don't work in your cars and thet work in others- BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO UPDATE YOUR BMW SOFTWARE TO THE LATEST VERSION!!! Other cars are already updated. Hope that helps.

FYI, the reason your disk is taking a little longer to read is probably because you used crap media. Memorex is garbage. Second DVD-R is superior when it comes to this than DVD+R. Third all of this DOES matter for you to work and its not always a software issue. any 07+ E9X can use their off the lot software to read the current disk GUARANTEED if its correctly. The ONLY cars I've seen having problems is the 06 E90, so unless you have the 06, if your nav don't work, you either burned it wrong (most likely case) or your nav unit is literally broken.

It also helps to burn at a slower speed. I burned the first one at 8 or 16 speed and it took a while for the Nav to read the DVD and then the stupid DVD got stuck. I was able to get it out, though. After that, I burned the DVD with 2-4 speed and it's working PERFECTLY now.

And FYI, I have a 2007 pre 29.2 software and my burned copy works PERFECTLY.

I downloaded and burned my 2009.1 DVD almost a year ago now. It took me almost 10 tries at different speeds and different DVD brands before I got one to finally work. It works, but the problem is that it makes a lot of annoying squeeking noises all the time as it's searching and querying data constantly. If there's a 2010.1 DVD bought and put up for copying, I'd be happy to pay someone $20 for a clean copy to be mailed to me.

Hey everyone,

This thread is far too long to read every reply, so then quickly:

I have an 09 E93 (manufactured Jan 09)... how do I check which version I have on their and if the thing people are talking about here is newer?

Ive noticed a few issues: sometimes I cannot click a new song from an iPod without first going back and level and then selecting the playlist again.
and for some reason, my maps are all "slanted". sometimes its even, most times its as if somebody took the skew tool in photoshop and applied it.

Thanks!
