RB cap review and RB cap/Valve install

I already had the RB valve so why the hell not have the cap that goes with it. The plastic cap is a POS!! All I can say is the cap is a masterpiece like everything rob makes LOL!! I decided to do a install DIY also on both items because I get a lot of PMS about how to install it.

Want to add this to the tutorial, I used a regular clamp to get a good seal on the vent hose. There is also a thread below, big thanks to "ashmostro" for the idea!

The cap was more of an aesthetic upgrade? What's the reason behind the valve upgrade? Reliability?

Stock valves have varying performance... some will allow too much blowby and accelerate intake tract mucking-up (technical term).

RB's valve in my car has essentially made my OCC unnecessary- it doesn't fill even slightly with oil now, even over several months.

OEM valve is weak and leaks wich is essentially is a boost leak wich also compromise the pcv system. The cap replaces OEM plastic POS wich usually is trashed taking off/servicing it. This cap allows for service to the valve.

What is the service interval for these valves? I'm at 27k miles now not sure if it's something I should be doing at this stage.

that the thing, bmw doesn't even sell a valve as it is classified as not servicable. The only way to get a new one would be to get a entire valve cover....that is why the RB valve/cap is so awesome. You will Be amazed at the difference...OEM is such a weak POS lol! I Would get one now honestly.

Cool write up man, you always knock these out of the park!

If anyone else is interested it would be great. I made these for a few people who have contacted me over the years who have cracked or broken their cap. Fully expect it to be a low demand item, but something that can really save your a** when you need it.

Here is a thread I just made on them if anyone is interested:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=875547

Thanks,
Rob

Such a quality piece, I would by this with the valve no question asked, makes install much easier and you can judge how tight the cap is on.

Great product

I'm still on my original one at 79k miles but my OCC has nothing at all in it. I'm guessing I got lucky and have a really well functioning OE valve but I think it's time for the RB one anyways.

Yeah, OEM doesn't hold boost as well either.
