If I was in the position to do so I would transfer you the money right now and then come to get it tomorrow. Sadly it is not to be. I'm destined to 335i less for a while longer.

I can not believe that you have had any sort of a job to sell it, let alone this much (apparent) hassle.

Hi All,

I went and met Matt yesterday to look at this car. It's a real is a cracker of a car and whilst i was so tempted to hand over the deposit i had brought with me, the amount I stand to loose on my current 335i with all the mods (more visual rather than performance like Matt's) was playing on my mind. Then my friend who thought would buy my car hassle free started to low ball me so I decided I just need to be happy with what I've already got.

Having said that for all you guys who aren't happy with what you've got, or don't already own a 335i, this is THE CAR for you. It has it all. Matt is a genuine guy who has not only spent a lot of money doing all the mods but a lot of time researching his choices. You won't be disappointed. Really sorry not to be taking it myself but sometimes things just aren't meant to be, like a quick sale of a 335i for the right money which is what I need to be able to buy Matt's yet the irony he is experiencing the same difficulty as me in the sale of his

Matt, when i bought my car from the dealer after i pad the deposit down for my car i said i will pick the car up 3 weeks later and they were okay with it.

Worth asking your dealer to hold the deal back for a few more weeks to allow time to sell.

selling in 1 week seems very optimistic to be honest...

I see where you're coming from. I think I would like to buy this car but the amount of money I would lose on mine and the hassle in selling it is putting me off!

For all you guys who are worried about 'losing' money on your 335 just remember all cars depreciate and loss money!!

Your need to spend £50-60k on a new M3 to get another car that offers a similar kind of performance/economy....

£16k is hardly any money when it comes to performance cars, I really feel sorry for the OP, if my 335 wasn't running nearly exactly the same mods I would have snapped this up the moment it appeared for sale.....Remind me not to even bother trying to sell my car privately when the time comes, I rather loss £2-3k by PX it rather than having to deal with so many time wasters

I agree I have almost an identical car to Matts albeit mines a cab. If I didn't I would buy this in a heart beat - £16k is a joke of a price (as in cheap) as I know how much these mods cost !!

However this has just reaffirmed my strategy of when I come to sell the car, it will be put back to bog standard so that it appeals to a much wider audience hence why I have kept all the standard bits and bobs.

Thanks for the support in it's various forms chaps.

For those questioning my sanity, I thought (perhaps wrongly) that by offering the car for £16k in it's modified state that I would do someone a favour. I will be stripping it (if needed) to increase the amount I can get for it and to increase the market appeal.

Rudz, I'm principally happy to accept your offer of £500 + the cost of swapover for the differential. You're welcome to make enquiries about it with Darren Wood or whatever. Again, happy for anyone else to do the same as long as you don't mind sorting it out!

Thanks
Matt

Cheers Matt, I'll get on the phone to them on Monday and let you know what they've got to say.

Great car, great set of mods, as said, I'm still pushing for a sale on my car, if I am able to I'll buy yours as is.

Haven't read the full post but if the car hasn't been sold then someone should buy it as it is.

If I was in the market for a 335i couple then I would do anything to get it at that price.

OP did you try to sell it to Birds ? as I sold my 335i touring to them and got 2k more than anyone offered me without any haggle.

With all the mods this car in no way less than 19k.

OP GLWS.

As silly as this sounds about a modified tt straight 6, what sort of MPG will this get if driven sensibly?
I've been looking for a 335d but am hoping I could justify this instead!

No such thing as driving sensibly in modded 335i's. However I get avg 19.5mpg with plenty WOT but on motorway I get 28 mpg. This car for sale is awesome with all the right mods - I went from 335d to 335i it's like night and day.

All depends on how many miles you do and what type of driving you do - mainly motorway then the 'd' is what you want - anything else then it's this car !!

Thanks again chaps.

I do mostly motorway journeys, then short fun drives and trips around town. My average over the last 12 months or so (according to the OBC) is 27.5 overall.

On motorways this car does about 32-33 when cruising at 70. Around town, about 22-23 and on a real blast about 15.

To be honest, I'm buying a 5.0 Jag because I've decided petrol costs are irrelevant if you pay the right price for the car. A 335d with same age, spec and mileage as this would be £20k+ and with diesel at circa 5p more per litre, the 335d won't pay back the difference for. 5 years. And which car is more fun??

Matt,

A shame you're selling a wonderful car with all the right mods. A stock 2008 335D with more miles are around £15-16k. This car offers so much more.

I hope someone picks this car up as is. A lot if work has gone into it. GLWS

Beautiful car this mate. Would love to own this, but also not in a position to sell and buy. N54 and DCT box would awesome and I'd have chose this car if you was selling 6 months ago everything I want!
Hopefully it stays as it is. So I can't pick it up in a year or two!

Guys - buy this car. For 16k. It is an absolute steal. Probably the best deal I've ever seen on the forum. Stop messing about. Don't try and get a discount. Buy it. Before the deal goes and you miss out on a 430bhp DCT 335i for less money than a new Focus ffs!

Don't frequent the E90 forum so often now days as Bms have long gone but as a previous buyer of one of Matts Cars (Golf Ed30) I can vouch for what a Genuine Guy he is and if the 335 is anything like the Golf he sold me it's probably never wanted for anything during matts ownership with no expense spared
Hope your well Matt and GLWTS
