Any difference between a 2008 335i long block and a 135i?

Might need to be swapping the block. Mine is a 2008 335i e93 manual. Just need the long block. Mine has 200,000 miles and a dried 1" thick stripe of oil along the head gasket seam. The head gasket swap I was quoted was $6,000. These are all less and substantially less mileage.
Any differences between these blocks?
Options are
2007 335i 9,000 miles
2009 135i 2,200 miles
2009 335i 15,000 miles

Thx

I believe they all share the same block, but the 135 has different placement of a few things under the hood.

Is the block all you need?

Yes. Just the long block. Car runs fine but we're boosting the snot out of it and don't want to blow the gasket.

How many PSI does boosting the snot out of equate to?

$6K for a head gasket? That's beyond absurd...what's the hourly rate you are being quoted?

But to answer your question, yes the motors are identical. A bit less room to the firewall in E8x, but N54B30s are what they are.

I could be wrong, but what year did the # of bolts on the crank to flywheel change? Shouldn't make a difference, but just noting it.

Flywheel went from 8 bolt up to 1/2009 then 2/2009+ went to 6 bolt.

Good to know. I was leaning the newer but I don't want to have to swap other stuff to make it work. I'm replacing clutch and flywheel too. Have the parts in hand.

Agreed. Two different dealers came back with $5,800. One was going to give me a discount to get it to $5,000. The other said for $6,000 they'd also put in the new turbos and downpipes. Looking for private shop prices now.

Save your money do it yourself. I got quoted between 5500-6500 for motor and install and 3000 just install took me about 4 days to remove and install in my garage.
