Using a 5 series iDrive in an E92?

I took my 2011 335is in for service and they gave me a 2012 528xi as a loaner. I really liked the larger screen and the overall 'snappier' performance of the iDrive in the 5 series. Obviously, the larger screen would not fit without some sort of custom work but is it even possible that the 5 series iDrive would even work in my 335? Maybe I might be better off waiting until a new iDrive unit hits the 3 series and hope for a retro fit?

F-series and E-series are completely different from electronics point of view so it's not possible to retrofit F10 iDrive into E92.
