For the sake of keeping safe parameters, we are not keen on running those boost levels on lower grade fuel. I'm sure you could but that wouldn't be responsible of us to release it until its been fully tested.

Aren't you guys testing the 15psi tune already? Thought I read that in the other Helix thread.

Again, we are making sure everything is running smooth without any errors or limp modes. Helix will not rush anything to market before its been tested thoroughly. We won't be selling this just to get it on the market then use everyone else as guinea pigs.

And you know me, I just want a little extra hp than stock. I don't plan on racing or anything, just want to have the extra hp when I need it. Plus, you know Terry. He is always in the works to make the JB better. So upgrades are countless for the JB too.

Exactly. But Im not taking anything away from Terry in that he brought a very viable product to market. Its just limited in the long run.

Will there be a software interface for the Attache like there is for the procede?

There is a serial interface being used to upload the maps onto the piggyback. As of right now only one computer has the program with the ability to do that. I dont know that end of the production exactly, you would have to contact Mark or Anthony for that information.

very very nice!
I was tossed between a CP-E box or the JB, but this looks promising. Not to mention we were actually at their shop for the entire day. Someone want to let me borrow 2 grand so I can get exhaust and get the Helix? lol |

Very tempting...I have procede and am waiting on V2 but I'm concerned that I will have issues with the mods that I am having installed at the moment. A custom tune would be best for my car but it's not gonna happen since Vishnu is on the west coast.
Helix is close enough for me to take a drive down there to get a custom tune from them. Please keep us posted on how it performs with subsequent maps.

That being said, I feel confident it would beat my m3. Then again, my M3 needs a new clutch so its not fair. I do plan on bringing it to the track once the kinks in the current map are worked out in the next couple weeks. Stay "Tuned"....

before I purchase, I would need to see a before/after dynojet dyno with uncorrected numbers, and a line that goes all the way to 7k rpms. Logged boost and AFR would be nice too.
It would also be nice if the harness was a little more thought out than some of the other solutions out there. I still dont like the idea of electrical tape all over the connectors, even inluding some of these would be cool: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=bmw+connector |
