First, I can't understand how BMW cannot offer leather as standard equipment.
Perhaps it's because of suckers like me, who paid $2,400 for the upgrade (with sports package BTW). I was mostly thinking about durability of the leatherette in four years, rather than the other way around. I had lived under the assumption that the Dakota leather would become softer and suppler in time. |

I would actually like it if cloth or other fabrics were an option.

I took leather option stand alone with coral red. I don't like the sport package because you can't swap front and rear tires...and it's more expensive too! The stock seats are very good and came with all eletric features...I'm not sure the seat with sport package have all the electric stuff!

Because BMW is a drivers' car, not a mamma's vehicle of choice to go from point A-to-B.
Even Lexus, catered for customers who seek comfort (a.k.a. women), does not offer leather as standard. Quote:

I can't believe they make you pay $2400 for a leather seat....
only if leatherette came in Coral Red I'm pretty sure for Audi + M.Benz leather seats are $1500.... Are BMW's leather that much better??? by the way... the red leather seats for Audi TT's are freakn HOT!!!! |

We are not only sexists, we are also racists, and you can put whatever "ists" you can think of, even materialists and BMW-ists...
