E92 328i Burger Tune/Chip. Questions for those who have experience
Hello,
I have tried searching for this on the forums and the general internet and could not find any answers that really were direct enough. So, I'm hoping some of you have played with this tune/chip and have some suggestions or advice. I have an intake and exhaust on my car (and those small RPI scoops) currently. I saw Mod Bargains advertise on FB a Burger chip: http://burgertuning.com/BMS_Power_Box.html It's not a horrible price and the numbers seem decent. The install and all that also seems very straight forward. My questions are: Once you set your tune and level, must you do this procedure each time you want to engage the device? Or is it stored in the memory of the car once it's initially set? Are the numbers /really/ that noticeable? Upon my search, the main benefit I saw was the throttle response. If that's the case, are there not specific tunes or codes you can optimize this feature more economically if that's the selling point? Is the device update-able? Eg, does Burger test and optimize their tunes/software? If so, any idea how it would work? Sorry if these are low level questions, I'm very new to this. Yes, I did reach the other version... AutoWerke? That seemed to be more than I was willing to do to the car. Seemed as if Burger was much easier to set it and forget it. Then easily change out if you need to get work done. Any help, links, pointers, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! PS. I was not sure if I should place this here or in the specific Engine section - Mods, sorry if this is the wrong area |

This tricks the computer by wiring it into the ecu. I went with the oft from Vishnu and couldn't be happier. It's a little more pricy 500 but it will do what the power box does plus more. And you don't have to wire anything into the ecu. There is several threads about it, it's worth a look.

Yeah, since I didn't get any responses I wrote to Burger and spoke with Jason. He explained a lot to me and it helped me understand what it was all about. I've heard of that and a few others. Just going to see what happens here. |
