Question JBD...in for service now out..pushed it a bit further can i go more

so - 2011 at 9k in for its first service...no problems...just service light and call from dealer (and no recall due to late production date) pulled the JBD prior to service (of course)...car is back and i plugged JBD in with no problems...it was at about 65%...drove for a 100 miles (hard and soft) and then moved it to 80% still no problems with mixed driving (stop and go - 0-60 blasts...100+ blasts etc) and nothing shall I push on or enjoy what I have...I do have the can tool but have never used it before and am not 100% confident I know how to reset things/ so thats my story...please share your thoughts / TIA

My car is funny. I can have JBD set to 100% in the warmer months no problem, but in winter it will go into limp mode. I just leave it between 90-95% now and no issues.

Dial it up to 100%. Worse thing that can happen is it triggers limp mode a month or two from now. Clear the code and enjoy again -- at least until the next limp event.

Same here. When I had JBD I ran it @100% except in winter @80% otherwise would go limp past -16C. Some occasional cel's nothing that can tool couldn't handle.

same exactly. I've been on 80-90 percent and in winter it does trigger codes (does seem faster though) so I leave it around there. the Can tool is basically when you want to clear codes (most you'll need diesel) you turn on car, plug in can tool, hold the button on can tool for
more than 1 sec ( I usually do 2 or 3) cuz sometimess just over 1 seconds doesn't clear (burger says < 1 sec reads codes and > 1sec deletes and >5 sec goes into program mode) so if you hold the button you should see 2 blinks from blinkers, then 4. if you see that you have cleared, or haven't any codes.

perfect that is what I was looking for a simple explanation as to how to reset - I read the on line manual but it was a bit confusing to me / thanks

read the codes (I don't care just clear them haha)

nope nothing can be done - most cars will throw a code over 65% at some point so its just a matter of finding your cars tolerance

Or you guys can stick the can tool there permanently and use it's auto cel clearing mode. I've tried it once during the winter and almost tripped over the cable and fell when exciting the car. That wouldn't be covered under warranty.

Is the flash really worth it? $1200 seems very pricy but I've been considering it since there is nothing else available right now to make these cars faster. Currently running a jbd @ 100% limp mode only if I floor it within 1 min after startup engine hot or cold.

@TeamMancuso

Flash does worth it! Depending on what you looking for. There are now Evolve, RennTech or Mega-Speed all pretty much equaI. I used to run JBD myself so I can compare them pretty closely. The flash will NOT make your car go faster over JBD, (only past the v-max) it will deliver that power differently and everywhere. You will have more like a gas feeling to your diesel if that make any sense.
