$1200-$1500 for CF interior wrap too much?

A local outfit in Tampa wants to charge me 1200-1500 for CF wrapping and it seems a little excessive. Tischer has a fill the OEM BMW Performance replacement for $1680, and I was wondering what the going rate was so that I might try a little negotiating.

Are we talking about the CF fabric wrap? If so, then that's way too much.

No Joke and yes...just the wrap material installed. Plus, he told me that the time I'd be without my trim would be 3-4 weeks. He stressed that the job is labor-intnsive and that is wh the cost is so high.

Is it for a E90 or E92? For that kind of money - not even that - you can get a real carbon fibre trim kit instead of wrapped pieces. If it's for a e90 here's the link you want to look at:

e90 Carbon Fibre Interior Trim set - 2x2 Twill

Let me know if you have any questions about it

I would do the trim wrap yourself for $35 for the cost of the fabric.

if you are talking about real CF, for that price, i'd much rather purchase genuine BMW CF trim and sell yours back on the market for few hundred bucks, still cheaper than $1500. as many mentioned, if it's cf clothe wrap, just go through vendors here, they charge $300ish and you are only a week out.

1500!?!?!

i think this has to go down in my book as the biggest scam i've ever seen.

I got a better idea. How about you send me your trim and i'll do it for you, i'll charge you only 1400 and i'll even give you a breakdown of how the money is spent:

50 for shipping
300 to get it wrapped by a vendor
1150 for my leisure and a few years worth of frozen yogurt

Depends on what he's doing, that's even a bit excessive for real fibre.

BTW - There's just no way CF wrap can compare with the real thing, sorry guys.

CF wrap costs less than $45. Buy 1 yard of fabric for $35 from Neffy Wrap, buy 3M Super 77 for $9 from Walmart. Do it yourself! I did everything in my E90 (not just the usual stuff, I did the rear console thing, cupholders, steering wheel in addition to all the trim) and still have some fabric left over from the 1 yard. It took 8-10 hours though but well worth it.

Sounds like a prison gang raping to me and he must really be not very good at it if it takes a month! Hopefully it is carbon leather and he is sewing it like in the M cars, otherwise forget about it!
