First log on e30 after adaptation

Hi guys,

Last night I put in E30 mix and ran several WOTs. Tonight, I was able to log my first run after a day of adaptation. Here it is, I'm seeing 17 psi, AFR is pretty lean but I know e85 will do that. Otherwise, I think it looks ok. Please let me know what you think!

Thanks in advance!

where was "oil temp" that is lpfp and FOL? Also the one big drop in ign advance generally means you need more octane so maybe it wasnt fully adapted.. I am just learning to read the logs but it looks pretty good to me. I would love to hear what other people have to say

It's in the csv log but for whatever reason, it wouldn't let me upload it. :/

I'm new to reading the logs myself so I'm trying to familiarize myself with the various fields.

Yea, I had the same situation. Post it over on n54tech also and send a copy of the csv to terry, he got back to me the same day when I sent over my log

Yup I posted on n54 but no hits yet. I've sent a log to Terry but I was reluctant because I didn't wanna bother him.

I'm also going to try to another pull tonight, I was reviewing my last "adaptation" log (2nd-3rd WOT) and did not see any timing drop but it was at a low boost level. I'm not sure if octane was an issue with having 3-4 gal of e85 mixed with 92 but we will see if it shows up again on the next log.

You have a not so pretty timing drop if you look at the plot. you dropped more than 6 degrees of timing that's not good and don't let anyone convince you otherwise when you posted elsewhere.

You need to do more runs and see if it's consistently dropping timing. if it is, increase you E85 mix to E40 and see what you get. Hopefully autotuning won;t push it even more aggressive

I'm gonna definitely do another log tonight, I want to see if that timing drop is consistent or not.

Terry said it was ok, he also said that my lpfp sensor may be out which is consistent with the 29f3 code I get. I guess a new sensor is in order.

Yeah definitely log and let us know.

and no it's not OK man. a 3 deg timing drop on one cylinder is OK, a 6 degree is not OK especially if it's consistent.

let us know

Melodramatic much? Map 5 among other things listens for drops and adjusts the tuning as needed next time around.

Actually... it's only 3 degrees drop initially then another .7 degrees and then it started advancing again. I've print screened the csv log section in question. The graph makes the timing drop bigger than it really was... again, I'll see what the next log looks like and report back.

Mike
and hence I told him to check for consistency... it seem it's not as big as the graph shows anyway...

6 Degree drop? Where? I see a single 3 degree drop.

It just seemed bigger on the graph, when he shared the data it became clear

graph doesn't have good resolution on y scale...

Okay, so I was able to log another run tonight. This time, it looks much better than the night before. Target boost was slightly lower, a tad under 17 psi while timing didn't see any significant drops AFAIK. Let me know what you think.
