you are "lucky" you live in WA.

In Oregon, a seat belt ticket is a "safety Violation" and treated the SAME as a speeding ticket. (it goes against your record for 3 yrs.)

you MAY get a diversion if you go to a seat belt safety class. I been twice!! where a nurse gets all too emotional (acting?)
tells stories with graphic slide show from DUIIs . I wonder why (95% of the people in the pictures are Mexican??,, little biased?) thats another topic

but yes, dont get caught in Orgygun!

Been there twice but not for me
Just with bro in law. He crashed into another car at signal. She was driving north and he was driving east. Signal light went out because of snow storm. He didnt see cuz he was behind a bus and hit her. He was blamed and got a 400 ticket lol. Took that class, got the price reduced but it stayed on record. But some of the pics they show on slideshow are nasty. Ughh.

FYI Vladdy, I went to Everett Municipal court yesterday for a hearing. I parked right in front of the court house. When I got out, I got a $20.00 (missing/illegal front license plate) ticket. Yup. that's how Everett PD rolls.

[QUOTE=gberger1;8628380...I estimate that taking the ticket to court will be 2-3 hrs out of your day, I iwill assume that you probably make more money than 150.00 at your place of work in that 2-3 hrs, so is it really worth going to court for 150.00 bucks, just to speak your mind and probably walk away with the ticket anyhow? ...in the end more often than not I walked out still paying the fine, especially in this economy, when the cities need money.../QUOTE]

I would agree in principle. I don't know what insurance companies (mine included) think about seat belt infractions. Check your policy or call them and ask. Even if they up your rate for it, it may still not be enough of an increase to merit wasted time in court. As the poster above states, like most BMW owners, if you're taking home > $50/hr, just pay it and move on.
