Alki BBQ Meet 5.17.2009 - Picture Thread
A few pics from today with my point 'n' shoot. No editing was done besides resizing.
Awesome turnout today for sure! Can't wait to see the pro shots!

The location was OK, but I think it could have been better. I would suggest a place for next time but I don't know any besides GG, Alki, and XXX in Issaquah. Did anyone get pics of me taking photos from Tony's car? BTW, don't expect my photos until next week. I gotta do some for my school first, then I will go through last meet's photos, and then this one. Agh! |

I wish I would never have to go through that with ours. She's pretty old, and I fear the day she dies. My family has plans to adopt another dog after our current one passes away, just to ease our emotions; maybe you should do the same? It would definitely make things easier, especially when you're back at square one and they're cute little pups
EDIT: Guys I made a big mistake. Instead of shooting in regular 21mp RAW on my cam, I shot in 10mp sRAW for the entire meet (to save some room on the CF cards), which means that I can't use DxO to correct my photos of lens distortion and such. They won't look as sharp and crisp as the photos I've taken in the past, just FYI. I gotta get me some high-cap memory cards Here's a teaser...not the actual meet BTW, but on our way back when I had time to mess around in Tony's E93 Oh yeah, about the rolling shots...apparently a wide-angle on a full-frame cam is horrible for rolling shots. Uh, I'll let you guys know how they turn out but so far the first two thirds of the photos with the wide-angle lens aren't looking too jolly...until I switched to my telephoto Last edited by TWiTCHY; 05-17-2009 at 10:33 PM.. |

Nice pics Eric.... Tell your friend (I guess) Andy for being the chef at the BBQ meet.
We need to plan for a longer drive and lots of rollin pics. Everyone on that drive from Eastgate way really behave and play safe.....awesome. Eric, did you and David said PNBMW? oh yeah....... |

I didn't take a lot of pics, but I'll get a few up soon. Oh, and a few of us rolled out to XXX in Issaquah, just in time to catch the end of the big car show they were having. Yeah, Sundays at XXX would be a BAD idea for a meet. The location for the BBQ doesn't have great scenery for photography, but it is secluded (meaning less hassles) and relatively unknown by the Alki swarmers. NO way in hell would we have been able to get that many cars parked together at any other spot near Alki today.

I got there just in time to run into Eric, which was the last person to leave, but at least someone else can prove I was there! Oh yeah, event attendance +1

LOL that tripod was so useless and overburdening. Should have left it at home. Next time...I'll know what to bring
And I couldn't resist HDR'ing this one: Anyone with a Canon know why sRAW is horrible at single-file-conversion HDR? I get lines and pink artifacts in dark dark shadows. They're somewhat visible in this photo but I desaturated the pink color. Ok, sRAW is just evil. Period. Last edited by TWiTCHY; 05-17-2009 at 11:23 PM.. |

But it must be during the summer Being at the age I am, I have a feeling my parents wouldn't approve of such a drive. They would claim it would be too dangerous and assume that I would die from falling/driving off the cliff. I'll have to convince them somehow. BTW if I can find a place to rent those sticky pods (suction cups) I'll definitely get them for this drive and do both film and video. |
