how is this for an offer?
Good morning guys. I've been on this board for quite a while and learned alot from you guys about the 335i coupe. Thank you for all your contributions. I went to a BMW dealership today to price out a 335i. I addressed the sales rep about all the issues about the car (fuel pump, power steering fluid leaking, sports suspension missing, oil cooler) and he told to be rest assured that all these items are covered under the manufacturer's warranty. These are the options I want...
205 6-Speed STEPTRONIC Automatic Transmission 322 Comfort Access 609 On-Board Navigation System 639 BMW Assist w/Bluetooth Wireless Technology ZSP Sport Package MET Metallic Paint ZCW Cold Weather Package 2XA Paddle Shifters The MSRP on a vehicle configured this way is $48,625, the dealer offered me $47,000. My questions is, would this be considered as a "good deal" or can I get a better deal elsewhere? Thank you for all your opinions. |

It's not a bad price, mine came to $47 300 without navigation or metallic paint, but fairly similar to yours in all other respects. Also, I bought mine in July, literally still on the boat coming over to the US, when they were very rare on the ground. I was prepared to pay list, as I did not want to wait, and wanted a car built in Germany as opposed to South Africa. I do have the iPod connection though, so you are getting a better price than I did - you did not say if you were getting Dakota Leather, I have that too and it costs extra. If there is one thing I can heartily recommend, it is the iPod option - it costs $400, but is well worth it for the convenience factor. Let me say this to you, you are getting a car that is well worth the price, we would all like to pay less, of course. But, this specific car, my 23rd vehicle that I have owned, is probably the best value I have ever experienced, and performs like nothing else I have driven. I don't need the new boy racer M3, in fact, I prefer the stealthiness of the e92. After a couple of months, you will have forgotten about the price!

Not to burst anyone's bubble, and it's is just me, but I find it difficult to justify $47K on a 3 series.

I don't understand this. I prefer my $50,000 335 to my erstwhile $67,000 550. The e90 3 series is almost as big as the e39 5 series was, and it outperforms it as well.

Dallas WAS discounting coupes 500. Now it is hard to get a nickel off. Demand here has gained momentum. TAKE IT.

Tell him $47k out the door and they have a deal. Walk in with your check for $1000 deposit to show them you mean business.

Nope no premium package. It doesn't have any benefits for me. The only thing that I would use is the bluetooth/bmw assist. I don't really care about the folding automatic mirrors that have the dimming feature. I can push them in myself and save $2200. Lolz.

Exactly...I use to think the same way, "I would never pay that amount for a 3 series..give me a break." When I took it for a test drive, I fell in love. The best 20 minutes of my life. Power, acceleration, handling, it has it all.
