Question Do These Lease Numbers Add Up?

I'm really confused... I've plugged these numbers into ever lease calculator online I could find... and I'm not getting what the dealer is... He's saying 578.16... I'm getting less... can anyone verify? Here are the numbers:

330i 36mo/15k

MSRP: 41940
Selling Price: 39785
Rate: 1.95
Residual: .62
Acq Fee: 625
Tax Rate: 7.875%
Govt. Fees: 67.50
Taxes: 1630.07
Doc Fee: 45.00
Sec Dep: 600.00
Residual: 26002.80
(Left down payment of $500 already)

Due at signing: 1290.66

578.16/month

Thanks guys!!!!!

That's odd... I don't see how a 24mo is possibly less than a 36mo. lease.. it's WAY more expensive.

its a new program with bmw.. i have a few friends who have leased the new 3 series and new 5 series for 24 months.. its less money cause the residual on the car is high. My car for example.. its 40170. after 24 month lease the residual is still 30,000. i forgot the exact figure but i know its 30k and change. My car was 540 a month with a 36 month lease. Call your dealer and ask him. If he says its more he is full of shit and wants to make more money on the deal.

I put all those numbers in my lease calcl and I came up with $571.42 per month and a drive off of $1283.92. It appears that he rolled acq. fee into lease. And I did nothing with that $500 down payment. I guess you will be credited 500 towards the drive off? Hope that helps .

Just playing with your numbers a little bit......I took out sec deposit of $600 put the acq fee of $625 in the drive off bumped up your mf to .0021 I came up with drive off of $1299.52 and $562.02 per month. Or if you paid the acq fee up front with sec deposit drive would be $1888.88 and payments would be $551.38. I will be leasing soon and I chose not to give deposit and pay acq upfront instead of rolling it into the lease. Rather not fight to get the deposit back at the end. Good luck

Can I ask, if the acquisition fee WASN'T rolled into the lease (which is shouldn't have been as he told me I have to pay that at delivery) what would the payment be? So the numbers aren't adding up then, correct.. If I'm going to pay the acquision and 1st month at signing (as I already paid the deposit)?

Depreciation: (39785-26003)/36 = 383
Interest: (39785+26003) x 0.00195 = 128

383+128= $511

Then add taxes.

Is he trying to dupe you by adding destination in there? Is the MSRP and negotiated price inclusive of Dest.?

Destination is included in the selling price as far as I know.. so the numbers aren't adding up for you either, right?

Just ask the dealer for all the numbers involved in your lease. Ask him if anything was rolled into the lease, get the exact drive off figure and have him itemize it for you.

It is easier to take in your laptop but it can be easily done on paper with a calculator, like I did two posts up.

(Buy Price - Residual Price)/months = Depreciation
(Buy Price + Residual Price) x MF = Finance charge

Add those two together and add tax.

Yes the MF is lower: 0.00195 (4.68%) vs. 0.00250 (6%) on a 325.

I've got exactly the same numbers (I wonder if we are using the same spreadsheet).

Also, when I picked up my car, the deposit was credited toward the "drive off" amount.

Just to clarify for you... the Money Factor (interest) on a 325 is HIGHER than a 330 and the residual is slightly LOWER.
