Twitter

Now then.

I hate social networking.... Except the forms of social networking I don't hate. Like forums. I hate Facebook, for example.

However, I have recently joined LinkedIn, but more importantly - Twitter. So far, my plan to NEVER JOIN FACEBOOK EVER, EVER, EVER is going well.

So, I have been Tweeting along to myself, updating me with exciting news about what I am (or am not) doing and I was wondering, are other people supposed to listen to my Tweeting? How would they know I am Tweeting? At what point does Tweeting become Twatting?

Anyway, if anyone wants to add me, I am on there as.... RagingKileak.

I also noticed that there is some kind of Twitter/Facebook integration via this site, but I can't figure out what it's for or how I can use it.... I'm referring to 'hide Twitter/Facebook link in thread' within my profile. Perhaps it's nothing, I dunno. I am following Bimmerpost on Twitter, so it can't be that.

Matt

I have a twitter thingy, but only use it to keep up with happenings in MotoGP from the riders and journalists who tweet.

This idea of telling people what you are doing is novel. Can you imagine Carlos? He's funny enough on the forum.

The way to get people to follow you (generally) is to put hashtags in your tweets.
This means that people can easily find your tweet when they search, eg, "Snowing again in #Runcorn "... etc will pick be picked up by those searching for #Runcorn.

You've just gained a new follower.

I have twitter but only because i get instant updates on my phone for various things like sport, gadget things etc.

I find twitter the worse form of social networking. Ok for famous people, i have stephen fry and lewis hamilton on my follow list but nobody will give a fuck what i say so i dont ever post updates.

I applaud you for your mexican standoff with facebook.

Cool - thanks.

So I could like, make people read my unrelated posts by just saying something normal #massivetittiescoveredinthespunkofsixmen and including a load of random garbage in the middle of it?

I find most celebrities just advertise their wanky shit. I know there are exceptions, but I am still new to it...

That might gain you Will as a follower....

I follow a lot of the F1 'stuff' and the Gadget Show mob (mmmm Pollyanna mmmm).
I gave up on Stephen Fry, Derren Brown etc. as I just can't keep up with all of the posts and I only 'dip in' (ooh err..) now and again.

Absolutely agree with this!

Love the 'empire of the hangover' and the DoE's fascination with The X Factor

Never been a member of Facebook or Twitter, am totally not interested in either.

Who cares if someone I may know has just had a dump or made a cake etc

I tried friends reunited once but decided that everyone I once knew could stay where they belonged.... In the past.

Bah humbug .

DoE suspects that Cher Lloyd is "as rough as a badger's arse". #xfactor

Do a bit of tweeting and it is good for business intel. Will follow you in a mo
Twitter on Apprentice night is good fun, lots of banter flying around.
You can also tell Lord_Sugar does his own tweets as he really does tell people to get stuffed some times. Lots of self-promoting as well.

I do use Facebook, but not much - find it another way to keep in touch with family / friends as I am pretty useless otherwise! There are some peeps who live on it all the time.....not my idea of fun.

Blah is making tea
Blah is drinking tea
Blah needs to get a life

Forgot to add Matt - the facebook integration allows your tweets to be posted to your facebook page
