New(ish) member...progress thread

Hi all,

Had a brief thread in the general section but didnt know we had a UK only one until now

On my 3rd BMW convertible, had a 2001 320 vert, then a 2006 320cd msport vert and now bought a 118d sport vert and a 320d msport vert...

I fit custom made PCs in cars, and have a couple of plans for this one, maybe an ipad mini in a sat nav dash....not sure yet on that...heres a couple of pics

day i bought it...

8 hours later...

new wheels...

fitted smoked side repeaters, carbon badges all round, few other bits etc...

more to come

All those verts!! I never realised it's so sunny in Darlington

I saw a clip on YouTube a while ago of a bloke who fitted a 7" tablet into his centre dash in an E46 M3 and it seemed to be a lot better than any other media unit.

Nice cars.
Have you got a link to the smoked side repeaters you used?
I take it they don't throw any error codes.

I used the original indicators just gave them a light dusting with a black spray an then laqure

Ive fitted chrome bulbs in them, i bought some 5 led ones but they are too long to fit in

No error codes at all, even with the bulbs removed

I just like convertible driving on the way to/from work. 40 miles of counteyside b roads every day. Our lass drives the 1er and does 60 miles a day so we make the most of them

Maybe when i hit 30 i will look at something more sensible but for now these suite us fine lol

lovely cars mate!

any other mods planned?

a debadge on the black vert and an M3 lip spoiler would make the rear look more aggressive

I'm interested in the in-car PCs... As above, I saw a video of someone in the states who had fitted a 7" android tablet to his car and themed the homescreen as KITT - looked cool

I think Google Maps and Nav are probably the best available, definitely light years ahead of anything BMW offer. If there was a way of getting the car's GPS signal fed to a tablet, I'd do this in a heartbeat.
