You meth people -- Frickin' Clue II

OK, we've established that meth/water is a good thing, lowering emissions & fuel use as power and smoothness are increased.

Now about drivability....would you say power is:
(1) Silky and linear
(2) Manageable - non linear
(3) Sudden rush
Do you find meth/water w/Procede or JB4 is:
(1) Infinitely modulatable
(2) Requires attention to drive smoothly
(3) On/Off

1 and 1 it is seamless it feels like you add a tune on top of your tune at least with the Vishnu PWM kit. Haven't tried other kits.

How many more threads do you need to make before you take the plunge? Everyone has their own interpretation of what your asking and they are all dependent on how the tune is setup. You can make any tune be very snappy at the on set of throttle or require lots of pedal travel to start moving.

Bmw 335i + FBO + Methanol/Ethanol is a must.
Everything except that is just plain stupid.

If you want to keep it simple, cheap and reliable - Just install a Basic Meth Kit!

I appreciate that you want to understand things, but I have to say this...

"We" did not establish that water and alcohol injection are good things. It's been an established practice in aviation and motor racing for at least 75 years, and popular among hobbyists and grassroots racers, particularly as a charge air coolant in forced induction applications for longer than I've been alive. (I'm forty.) Nobody here invented it, and nobody here decided arbitrarily that methanol mixtures were the among the most effective injection agents. In fact, nobody here was anywhere near first to try these things on the N54/N55 motors. The only "first" that may have occurred is that of Shiv's use of his own piggyback platform as a means of integration and plug and play control. Terry quickly, and wisely followed suit with his own slightly less elegant, but possibly as effective offering, and I expect Cobb will cobble something together as well. (Apologies for the pun.)

In short, Shiv may have reinvented the wheel for us, but it's still a wheel.

So, your incessant threads doubting effectiveness and techniques that have long been established by folks who have long since forgotten more than you or I will ever know about forced induction combustion engines is silly and becoming annoying. I do appreciate that you want to understand things, and that you don't accept things at face value, but I suggest you fire up the ol' Google and look at the reams of research and data available on the subject, rather than asking the same questions repeatedly of folks who are no more informed than you are.

That said, speaking for the Procede's PWM implementation:

I would answer both of your latest questions with 1. My N54 with just a Rev. 2.5 Procede and the PWM kit feels like a small naturally aspirated V8 on the "aggressive" maps that went to a selection of testers yesterday. The prior maps were also smooth and very linear, but did not have quite the torque-on-demand feeling of a small block V8. The kit is as close to idiot proof as methanol injection can be, I think.

I have not tried the JB4 implementation, nor a "standard" HFS-3 or HFS-6 kit on this platform, so I cannot enlighten you as to characteristics of those.

To answer your question
1 and 1 and you choose the tune you want to run, which is another which tune is better thread and you can search about 1000 threads about this

I think we're being grilled by:
1) Someone who doesn't own a tune;
2) Who doesn't own a tune due to the fact it is not his BMW;
3) And whereby is difficult to mod lack of tune and add meth to said BMW because in reality BMW is owned by mom and dad.
4) Also doesn't realize in his genuine interest in cars, is ending up annoying everyone with inane banter and incoherent loose quotes from textbooks and internet technical references.

That's what I'm looking for - as I'm JB4'd, ordering Terry's kit.

Gotta say, JB3 & 4 greatly improved the ride, but looking for this to resolve niggling issues. Gotta think about rear tire wear.

If you ever get a chance to drive in a Procede/pwm meth car, go for it. It's going to clearly illustrate the differences in hardware/software approach.

As compared to your previous thread would you say that this one is:

1) exactly the same

2) borderline the same

3) the most revolutionary thread on e90post since the one about Terry and George Clooney
