Do what I did, Call BMWNA and have them call the dealership, it usually fixes everything real quick

except his problem doesnt really have anything to do with the dealer..it has to do with the mytire warranty...but yea we deal with tire warranty alot man and we never really have an issue? they dont come out there and look at the tire its basically up to the techs judgement? and that tire def needs to be replaced...

Just pop a small hole in the sidewall with something like a finishing nail where the bubble is and take it in. They can't prove you punctured it and they can't deny you a new tire.
I had to do this once becuase my tire insurance were being jerks so I was like OK, two can play at this game a-holes! I won, they lost... |

Let it go flat and drive on it to the dealership as you SA stated you can drive on it for 100 miles. At that point they would have to replace it for you. I'm glad I didn't get the tire insurance, used the extra $$ for a set of rims/tires.

Hell, I got a impact bulge on my Escort when I was in high school, but I didn't bitch too much about replacing a $40 tire. |

sorry to hear your trouble. I too had a bubble on one of my tires, took it to the dealer and came out of there with a brand new tire in less then an hour. Didn't even pay a dime because of the tire insurance.

I am awaiting my 335i, I was on the phone this morning with a customer service person at BMW NA, I brought up the issue of the run flat tires and all the problems that people are having with them. The customer service rep told me that Bridgestone is very aware of not only the problems with the tires bulging after hitting potholes but also the premature wearing issues.
She told me that Bridgestone have changed the compounds in these tires and all the new 3 series cars shipping from March 08 have these new improved run flats, I asked her is she could email me any kind of documentation from Bridgestone stating this, she told me that they don't get the service bulletin updates but I should contact Bridgestone to varify this claim. Has anyone heard of "new improved tires" being installed? |

The bubbling side walls is very common on the RFT. I would just keep going to all my local dealers until they replace them for FREE. Or like someone here mentioned call BMW NA infront of your dealer rep and have them rip them a new one.

Maybe it's just me being an unhonest person but at $400 a pop you can bet you're ass I'll shove some nails in those tires and drive to another BMW dealership that doesn't know about your encounter with the "dissectors"

I had the same problem. Just get a nail in your tires. You do this by holding a nail in a pliar and have a friend run it over. You can also disinflate the tire and run it till it falls off the rim.

^ You don't want to run over the nail, you want the puncture in the sidewall not the tread. Use some pliers or a vice grip and push the nail through. It doesn't take much effort. Even a straightened out staple from a staple gun is strong enough to go through the side wall. The rim idea is a bad one because you could potentially damage it that way.
Forget messing around with calling BMWNA, blah, blah, blah. This will take care of your issue once and for all no questions asked. |
