adding oil question

I have a question regarding topping off my e92. The other day my car said I needed to add a quart of oil so I just opened the oil cap and poured in oil without specifically pouring it into the smaller hole that is inside. Does the oil need to specifically fall in the smaller hole or is it okay just to pour it into the big general oil cap on the engine bay?

if you look inside to where you put the oil in there is a small hole is that where the oil should specifically get poured into or can the oil just be poured in by popping up the oil cap?

open oil cap pour oil.
DOnt top off. just one quart. too much oil and you will

Change your valve cover gasket for more education on where the oil goes under the valve cover. small hole big hole doesn't matter just open pour.

GL on this mission.

Hahaha, I had to go to the garage and look just to figure out what the hell you were talking about. You're fine, BTW, just unscrew and pour.

Somehow this reminds me of the movie "Tommy Boy" when Richards asks Tommy if he topped off the oil after the hood flew off lol. Sorry to get off track.

You're fine. Just stick it in any hole.
